Forums - Nintendo - Rayman Legends Sells More on Wii U Than Any Other Format (UK)

Good to see indeed that any boycott has failed to materialize (such as it is, anyway), although i would still suggest that delaying it was a bad idea (not making it multiplat, just delaying the Wii U version to match). It would have gotten so much more attention in February, and if the game were truly good, have generated buzz and demand amongst PS3 and 360 owners.

Problem is that I'm pretty sure Sony and Microsoft both have policies against releasing a game on their system late without added content.  So, the choices were release only on the Wii U, or release it on the Wii U but bring a superior version to other consoles.

bombs all around. :(

I'm happy Ubisoft invested in a sequel even though the first one bombed, just hope they weren't expecting this one to be a runaway success.

According to Ubisoft last february or so, the game was profitable, and it sold a few hundred thousand after that plus the Vita version.  This opening is about 20% higher, so I'd think it would match their expectations.

+ their is digital copies this time aswell. Rayman:Legends have been available to pre-order for a few weeks on PSN and is priced pretty good.

So you chuck in a token extra character? They're doing it anyway, with that protagonist from ACIII Liberation in, what, the Vita version?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Who cares if it sold the best if the sales aren't good.

this sounds like an excuse, how much is rayman suppose to sell? Not every game needs to sell 100k+ fw to be successful, ubisoft said origins sold for a goood profit and none of the platforms sold close to a million! beside this is wiiu, so this is good news lol

Yeah, over 2 million units across platforms (plus digital sales on PSN, XBL, Steam...) is far from "bombed":

I'm pretty sure, Ubisoft was happy with the results. And Rayman Legends will get even better sales.
