Problem is that I'm pretty sure Sony and Microsoft both have policies against releasing a game on their system late without added content.  So, the choices were release only on the Wii U, or release it on the Wii U but bring a superior version to other consoles. 

So you chuck in a token extra character? They're doing it anyway, with that protagonist from ACIII Liberation in, what, the Vita version?
