you are obviously joking because microsoft never said they will sell 1 billion consoles
seems like some still don't understand what that microsoft guy said and meant... he mentioned the whole industry which will reach 300m this gen and how many experts expect it to be 400m next gen if you talk only about game consoles but they think broader than that with the xbox one and then there is a potential market with 1 billion customers and not only 400m. and of this 1 billion market microsoft expects to get their customers. if he would mean xbox one will sell one billion he wouldn't say that it can go from 400m to 1 billion if the 400m is a projection for the whole console market.
Every generation, as you’ve probably heard, has grown approximately 30%. So this generation is about 300 million units," he shared. "Most industry experts think the next generation will get upwards of about 400 million units. That’s if it’s a game console, over the next decade.
"We think you can go broader than a game console, that’s our aim, and you can go from 400 million to potentially upwards of a billion units. That’s how we’re thinking of the Xbox opportunity as we go forward.
