I wouldn't say derail... the problem here is that the original post is so crazy that people automatically don't believe it. Is that wrong considering how many stupid rumours there have been in the last few months.
- Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.
- The simplest explanation is usually the right one
- Is it possible that dev's don't know of this hidden chip and have been making games on the assumption of the specs they get directly from the devkits and development website - No.
- Is it possible that the final devkits that developers have doesn't include this new tech - no
- Is it possible that MS upgraded their hardware spec's from Sony's information in Feb - maybe.. but very unlikely.
- Does the USA FCC? approval make any suggestion of these items when it was passed before the PS4... no
- Is it really possible that Sony have stopped MS from revealing their hardware because of an NDA - possible..yeah but very highly unlikely. Hey you are giving us money to make some tech, but you cannot talk about it... no.
- Is it likely that any hardware upgrade has happened in the last few months since the FCC.. which was at least before July. - Possible.. maybe, and they would have to get the unit all approved again.
So there are definately more no's or negatives than yays. But people are saying its people derailing the thread... thats just rubbish, sorry but common sense has to be used. What happened to the 12-16GB ram that was supposed to be installed.
So what I am saying is, we don't know the full spec's of the XboxOne, what is more likely:
1. They are keeping it quiet because they have made a much more powerful console but dont want to tell anyone about it and cannot tell anyone because Sony have an NDA about MS's equipment
2. They are keeping quiet because they know their specs are weaker, and they know the internet will go crazy about it.
3. They have improved their hardware (which would give credence why they are launching in less countries) but don't want to tell anyone about it yet.
As you can see all three are possible, but which one is likely.
Anyway i guess we will know when they give a launch date and someone gets hold of the tech, but I think giving people grief cause they don't believe a rumour is pretty unfair..
