Forums - Sony - Sony Factories 'Running Flat Out' To Meet PS4 Demand

Lol kowenicki is really playing damage control. First of all if they do struggle it wont be 1 mil. Preorders are already over a million and raising. Secondly launch day supply wont be the only suppy. They will supply much more... or do you think the wii u only shipped like a million last uear too?

So the point of stopping guaranteeing pre-orders is just that "guaranteeing"

It just means that they are not 100% sure that they can provide them and they can always add more. It doesn't mean that they are going to run out, it just means that they are 100% sure of those lot. Now they are getting their factories working more and more, they can guarantee more

Anyway, it's clear that there is good demand for the PS4, so Sony are sensibly doing everything in their power to meet that

I hope they don't make too many I kinda want to sell a couple lol. Don't hate me I'm a poor student :(

Apparently not too poor...

actually Amazon doesn't charge until it ships so ordering 8 didn't cost me a cent and I will get payment before they demand it.  Also won't have to pay for shipping being a prime member.  Also I can just change the shipping address a couple weeks before release to get them to whoever buys it on launch day.

Great we can know they are working 20 hours a day for minimal wage and all human rights laws are probably being ignored.

The more you think!!!

20 hours a day for minimum wage is better than the following 2 alternatives:

1. No job at all for those poor chinese people. Now they can't feed their family and either die or become thieves.

2. Let's give these chinese factory workers American level minimum wages. Cool now they make $7 an hour or whatever it is. Uh oh now the PS4 costs $500 retail not $400...and many of the workers get laid off and now have no job instead of a bad job.

That's pretty sweet!

it'll certainly help put a dent in loans I just hope demand outstrips supply.  I would feel bad but it's people's choice to spend that much on it and they obviously have the money if they're willing to spend it for a toy like that.  Also the people who can't get them can wait it out and possibly get a more reliable unit lol

If Sony can't guarantee consoles for all their 1m pre-orderers . Why are people thinking Sony will have 4/5 million units this holiday ?

The 1m is for day one people. They are still taking preorders, just they can no longer guarantee you get it on the day of release unless you are one of the first 1m people.

From what I could understand Sony can't guarantee that all these 1m pre-orderers will reveice the console at launch.

Amazon set a deadline (as did some other places). If they were ordered before a certain date, they are day one. I don't think there is an issue with producing enough for the holiday, just that there is a limit to what you can ship in a day.

They weren't running flat out before?

words.

and "they may struggle to meet 1m pre-orders for launch" ??

but ethomaz told me they would ship 5.5m this calendar year.

ethomaz on 16 June 2013

In my maths...

June - 200k
July - 500k
August - 800k
September - 1 million
October - 1 million
November - 1 million
December - 1 million

5.5 million shipped this year?

Semms like Sony really increased the forecast to PS4.

Edit - Fixed numbers due the prodcution reach 1 million in September.

Ohhhhh how the things turned out... it was really close... remember that the 4.2m sold didn't account what they shipped in the last weeks of December because the consoles didn't reach the stores exactly when they shipped.

So the shipment can be close to 5 million for 31th Dec.

Those poor machines. And me thinking the holocaust days were over.

this thread is hilarious.

I forgot this thread too...

I'm having a hard time to find where Kowen comes with "Sony struggling to supply 1m for November".
