I dont know how many times imgonna have to say this until people listen, but Sony was the one throwing out Monster Hunter by blocking the PS3 release in the west.

Capcom was FORCED to go with nintendo because of US westerners.

Now Sony's tune has changed and the PS3 era arrogance went away, so they might go back to supporting those systems aswell.

I think Nintendo is going all out cause they want their system to be a smashing sucess like the previous ones were. This is more to shut-up mobile phone gaming defenders than anything else.

after what the psp did i would be doing all i could to stop the Vita dead to try and stop Sony from considering a 3rd handheld.

its not a war its a massacre

Yes, but not as vicious as Nintendo's war against the Wii U.

As you said, I think after the gamecube and now the WiiU, nintendo have seen how quickly their empire can fall. Seeing as it's the handheld division that's always kept them afloat during these times, I imagine they are doing everything in their power to ensure that the Vita fails enough for Sony to not bother making another.

Really though, mobile gaming is going to make handheld gaming smaller and smaller over the next few years. It's not going to disappear, but the days of a handheld selling 150 million units is looong gone.

Why do people say this? not literally at you but 150mil days are over? Only DS did that! PS2 if you include consoles. Handheld selling 50mil is a great job in my book now adays with tablets/etc. 3DS is going to be huge, it'll sell no less than 60mil lifetime. 2DS might be a good counter attack here in the states to compete with tablets/etc. Not directly but to get back the handheld market. $130 handheld vs $300+ tablets! Also during holiday 2DS might drop to $99! Pretty damn good if you ask me, we have to wait and see if it can pull the job, if it cant i still see 3ds doing well :P

I love my 3DS XL but nothing is going to make a kid who wants an iphone want a 3DS instead. iphones are the "it" thing and cost won't matter.

I didn't even know that there was competition between the Vita and 3DS/2DS.

The poor Vita. There aren't enough games for me to get one, but I desperately want one to continue the Ys series! My 3DS is just getting too many games though.

I will consider that a yes. Go to the vita thread on this site. They say there are 100 games released daily for it. I must be missing them though ,because there are only 3 at my local walmart. Maybe I should check Gamestop.

At my Target the Vita has its own little section that covers 12ish games. the 3DS has over 40 next to the DS on this long wall.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

Not really. A more apt comparison would be the Game Boy and the Game Gear.

Wait, that's not fair at all... the Game Gear actually had games.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
