Yes story characters things inexistent in many nintendo games. Nintendo doesn't push games in any way other then with devices and 3d platformers. Zelda itself is a joke in some aspects compared to other rpgs.

Zelda isn't an RPG, to be fair.

@OP: I think this is more wishful thinking than anything else from Reggie. The fact is that many consumers are interested in how a game looks first and how it plays second. Pretty pictures and brand names go a long way in this industry. Deep, involving gameplay mechanics are just more difficult to articulate in 30-second TV spots and are often lost on impatient consumers.

Its true. Graphics aren't nearly everything anymore. Its become less and less relevant as it should be.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

well he is right and wrong, people who have grown out of the fanboy phase or grew up in the 2D era will agree and those who care about gfx will only care about gfx and not gameplay. I think we got a generation of gamer that only cares about gfx and nothing more lol.

on a side note, im sure the steam box will be the best console lol (if you can call it that)

Nintendo always says this.

i agree.

Reggies back pedaling. He was boasting about how superior their version of COD was last year to the current gen consoles and then CNN anchor told him their are rumors that the next Playstation and Xbox were much more powerful and he said "we'll see". Now he's saying graphics aren't everything. Hypocrisy is a bitch.

Even when Nintendo was selling loads of consoles, they were missing out on almost all of the top third party titles. They thought they had a powerful enough console, just to come up short into the next gen. Nintendo has always wanted the third parties games, but they expect them to custom fit games to their specs.

Thats not what he said last year when he thought the Wii U was going to be the most powerful console on the market.

No, it wasn't. It was on par with the current gen but slightly better not "dramatically better". Next gen blows the Wii U's graphics away. When a CNN female anchor asked Reggie about the power of the next gen consoles he brushed the question off and tried to emphasize the graphics of the Wii U which is old and tired tech at this point. Now when they are far behind in graphics yet again Reggie wants to say graphics don't matter. He was caught by the media and people on Youtube. What he said was 100% pure hypocrisy.

I've played BLOPS2  on the Wii U. The graphics at slightly more crisp, but the framerate is basically the same and the handling isnt as comfortable as the current gen consoles, even with the Pro controller. Unlike most, I can actually say I speak from experience.
