Yeah I definitely enjoy it, I also play COD local multiplayer with friends around but Killzone has never had spiltscreen apart from co-op on singleplayer. But for me its not a gamechanger because I already enjoy killzone in its current form, maybe for someone like you who enjoys local multiplayer then I can see how this could be a deal breaker.

Oh shoot I never knew that the Killzone campaign had local co-op. I might go back and play it now with somebody, I only really used to play Killzone for the online multiplayer.

There's no local multi? wow. not very next-gen to me.

I'm worried about next gen because other than racing and fighting I saw very little split screen this gen.  It's one of the main reasons I love Nintendo systems is for their local MP focus.

The benefit is that it's all Sony equipment so they can bundle it pretty much at cost. So I don't think they will be losing too much on it.

For me its a smart move, I am surprised they hadn't done it sooner to be honest, but its a good idea.

Problem for me is that I had ordered a console, controller, camera and killzone, do i cancel with the risk of losing day 1..etc etc. So clarity is important for many people i feel now.

Yep. Its because the damn core gamer buys all these crappy in bedroom dim-light solo games that some publishers think this is all that is important. Whereas Nintendo knows there are families who enjoy gaming entertainment... not just loner 18-35 yr old boys.

Personally, I think one of the biggest reasons PC gaming lost out to consoles was solely due to local multi. I mean NES/SNES had two game ports, then N64 made 4 the standard. There's a reason for that and I don't think the rise of online play has negated the need for local multi.

I love SP games too.  What doesn't make sense to me is all the online games not having split screen.  This is particularly inexusable next gen with all the interconnectivity.  If we can play 16 player matches we should be able to have 2 people on screen.  Hell Borderlands and Resistance did it and I love them for it.  It's such an easy thing to add yet they don't throw it in for some reason.

It loses potential income more than anything. They will be making good profits on the extra controller and camera, so yeah, it will minimse profits but is obviously a move to counter the FIFA bundle

Sony have been very smart so far. They previewed the PS4 in February and since then they have only played counter attack. Microsoft announcr DRM and $500 console. They counter attack no DRM and $400 console. Then MS focus on cloud they counter attack with Gaikai (weak compared to cloud for me) and Vita Remote play (i m definitely buying a vita now).
Then MS gives Fifa with pre order and the counter with that crazy bundle and are saying there will be more.
Sony has been playing it smart so far.
