3D was a failure to begin with. with the 2DS the practically admit that. also the show one more time that the prefere to play it safe with countless cheap interations of already existing hardware and games instead of trying to create something new software wise. nintendos motto pretty much is: "get them as young as posssible because the younger they are the easier to entertain they are."

So you're saying they're smarter than the competition.

I can live with that.

maybe, but i honestly don't care about how much money they have or make. i only care about what they are using it for. and if it's really true that their pockets are full of cash it's even more pathetic when you look at the quality of their recent products.

The 2DS is brilliant, from a business perspective. It captures all those consumers who didn't plan on buying a 3DS anytime soon due to the high price barrier. 3DS's are still $169 and aren't likely to drop anytime soon, especially with this latest re-design.

I don't see all the problems with it that everyone else sees. It's a stripped-down 3DS that is cheap to manufacture and thus costs less at retail. I don't understand all the tweeking out about it on the internet.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

I understand Nintendo for making the 2DS but that design is fugly!

I think a better design would've been to make it look more like a tablet with just one big screen where only the game itself will divide it into two screens by creating a black line. And then for those that want to watch videos and such, can use the full screen big screen. ...But then I'm sure there'll be talks of Nintendo competing with Android and tablets lol

Pointless.
The 3ds is currently the best selling console and it seems that it will continue to be for a long time. The 2Ds is just a cheaper option to play its games without the 3d effect, just like the DSLite was a cheaper option to play DS games without the internet connection.
I do believe that the 2ds is meant not only to small children, but also as a way to improve 3ds sales in other regions, since it will be a lot cheaper than a regular one

not the same thing at all, since the DS lite predates the DSi. this is coming after 3ds has been on the market.

What's wrong with the quality of their recent products?

i didnt even know this was real. im not mad, but will they just have two skus? will they finally stop selling DSs? IMHO this tells me that, maybe they are thinking the whole 3d thing wasnt a good idea, this is like the 2nd revision of the system in 3 years?

its optional, not they think 3D wasnt a good idea, it should give X1 a hint on Kinect less SKU! This is a smart move, cheap price ($129.99). Nintendo going to blow the F*** up come Oct 12

Never said it wasnt smart, but just strange, the 3d was THE feature for the 3ds, its what they were pushing(intially) now the handheld is getting some footing and they release a SKU without the feature that was supposed to sell the system in the first place? Naw, not buying it, at the very least they are thinking maybe the 3d isnt as hot as we thought it would be. Its gonna be interesting, they still have DS and now 3 different 3ds skus.

I think this is foreshadowing a future homeconsole-handheld-hybrid-whatever more in line with the traditional conpcept in mind (GB/GBC/GBA/NES/SNES) than one/ones in the actual concept in mind (DS/3DS/Wii/Wii U).

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

If your kid threw up after a session of 3D, do you think s/he will do it again just to have fun puking over and over again? Or am I giving too much credits that kids learn from mistakes?

Considering how many adults get utterly trashed with drugs and alcohol, I'm say "probably."

NintendoPie turns 15 and instantly doesn't understand what Nintendo are doing. Give it a week and he'll be playing CoD 17 hours a day while demanding they go third party.

*slow clap*

with 3 different sku, and the 2DS being completely different and much cheaper, 3DS starting oct 12 will sell so much its going to blow up the charts
