Which will sell more lifetime?

Killzone: Shadowfall for the PS4 338 50.67%

Titanfall for the XBOX ONE (only the ONE) 329 49.33%

Total:667

Titanfall especially when it releases on the other consoles...I expect it to have 7-9M Lifetime 3 years from now

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I would be extremely confident in Killzone's performance, just based off of the US preorders alone. It's got an almost 10:1 ratio in the US, and that's not even the region where it will be most popular. We all know Killzone is a killer franchise over in Europe, versus Titanfall which will probably lean more towards the US demographic. So, WW, I think Killzone has a strong chance of not only beating Titanfall, but dominating it.

This all is of course if you just go off of XBone numbers alone. Some XB fans here and there might try and be cheap and combine all platforms (I'm looking at you GeneralMLD, I keed I Keed) ;)

Sony internet fanboys talk Killzone that the world sees as a niche. Titanfall is a brand new exclusive franchise game that's getting good buzz. It hasn't establish a fanbase yet but still might sell eight million games in 2014. It has a even better chance with lifetime sells.

I think that's a fairly accurate depiction. I mean personally I love Killzone, but the original is my favorite and first online MP on console so it has that nostalgia. However, the series really has done well to push graphics on the ps3 and KZ3 is one of the best looking FPS games out there. I think in general the vast majority of consumers don't log in to internet forums, but perhaps read and even less care at all. So Titan Fall might fall prey to similar misgivings in regards to hype and internet fanatacism. Logistically i could see KZ:SF doing better in the first year, but it is hard to say for lifetime as we haven't seen commercials for either games, and don't know what the install base will really be for either console.

Titanfall, because it is going to later so the playerbase will be larger. Shadowfall's sales should probably dry up by the release of Titanfall

They're only like 4 months apart! Killzone won't be replaced as the goto tech demo game on the PS4 for a bit longer. Second Son might take away some of that, but I reckon Killzone will sell as "the best looking game on the system" until Naughty Dog show up

It's slated currently for Q1 2014. Isn't that March at earliest, and IGN has it as Q2. So it seems it should come out around late April or May which is six months and although KZ is a launch game, it doesn't really have much legs as a series. They are decent holding about 20k until about Christmas of their launch year but I'm expecting weaker legs since its launching around christmas time and it would blow most of its sales at launch at higher initial sales  than its predecessors but topping out somewhere between 1.5 & 2 million in the spring.  This isn't accounting for if they make it a PS+ game which would certainly put it above Titanfall.

Titanfall has the benefit of being enomorously hyped, being praised all around, a famous pedigree of developers behind it and a larger marketing campaign availble since it's being called the new CoD killer. They are also going to mostly market the XBONE version overall with only mentions that its coming to 360. Also the number of Xbones at its release will be greater than PS4 at launch and will be a launch title for a number of countries. They are probably follow similar sales curves but the Titanfall curve should be larger.

Titanfall looks better to me but Killzone has the launch advantage and the console exclusivity.

Titanfall all the way.

hard to say, titanfall looks amazing and its getting alot of publicity but killzone is an established franchise, it looks awesome as well and the ps4 will probably have the larger install base. So looks like killzone will sell more but not by much

I've been thinking it's X1's Gears too so yeah, Titanfall all day. I'm shocked to learn in this thread that no Killzone has ever sold more than 3 mil. It's one of the few Sony games I feel like I'm really missing out on by being a MS only console owner.

Let's face it, Titanfall just looks fun and it seems that the people who have actually played it are pretty stoked about it. I suspect that's why it's pissing off many a fanboy who's console won't be able to play the game from the jump. Oh and when did people start comparing pre-order numbers of games that are coming out at least like 4 months apart?

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

The killzone series has always been a mediocre, sub par franchise, with a fan base that always hypes it up but never buys it.
So i say titanfall.

I still think Titanfall will sell similar to Gears of War (a new IP for the 360), selling about 5-6 million.

I think Shadowfall will do typical Killzone numbers, selling about 3 million.

as a launch window title??? (within first year of release?)  I dunno 3m might be realistic for either at max, but I'd say considerably less for both for at least the first year after release.

Poll asked for lifetime sales, so that is what I estimated.  I am also assuming that many people who buy it for the 360 will buy it again for the XBOne, especially if there is a cheap upgrade offer.

Titanfall is also almost guaranteed to have a console bundle with XBOne.  I think Microsoft is going to market this as much as they would Halo.
