By the way... best reason to RAISE the Minimum Wage is one nobody is mentioning for some reason.

Welfare pays better then minimum wage.

To paraphrase the late great Tupac Shakur, that's "The realist shit you ever wrote!"

Well in 35 states anyway.

A great graph that mentions the $15 an hour thing.  Well except for he fact that they list Washington DC as a state.....

Sure most states only let you collect welfare for 3 years but it certaintly demotivates people to find work and burn through their welfare/build up huge employment gap that's hard to get out of.

If they want more money, they should prepare themselves to get a better job. Is minimum wage for a reason. They dont deserve a penny more thanthey get

You should really have to live in there shoes for a day to see how tough it is for the poor.

All this talk of opportunity and yet for some people they are locked out of all this because they can't afford it. I don't know how the poor can be lazy when it's usually the bosses who work less days overall.

And also, unless you have been living under a rock since 2008, most jobs are either low skill or high skill. How do you suggest people to do better if there are few decent jobs now? especially if they can't afford university? As others said, the middle class is slowly disappearing as the poor get poorer and the rich get richer, that ain't good for a developed society.

No, actually since 2008 ive been studying, completing my career and preparing myself,to get the job ive always dreamed on. Thats why I advice people to do....

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as that.

While this is very long... you didn't actually provide any real arguements.

Why should someone who does the same job, just as well get paid more or less depending on how well other people do their job?

As for Germany... guess what Germany doesn't have.  Minimum Wage.

Germany have very strong unions instead that's why

But with all the right wing bullshit in American media, that would never work as for some reason Unions are demonised in America, most of the time.

Not for fast food and other minium wage type jobs they don't...  Something like 1.5 million workers make under 4 euros an hour.  With the bottom level of wages reported being 55 cents.

and Unions don't keep factories in countries... it's quite the opposite.

What keeps union style jobs in a country is a general populace that wants the existence of good union jobs more then they want cheap goods.  That or cases like germany where they augment things where you basically don't need a minimium wage, and the good union jobs are supported by cheap non union jobs.

Having no minium wage helps that because their is no "floor level" of success, meaning shitty jobs aren't seen as real jobs.

The thing is it doesn't matter that the shitty low skill job pay so little when they kept there decent jobs around.

And the strange thing is, that they may have kept the majority of their manufacturing but alot of stuff is cheaper there when compared to the UK.

But yeah i'm not sure if getting rid of a minimum wage can be done now if most decent jobs are gone here now

Which is my point.  Also, that the shitty paying low skill jobs support well paying jobs.

For every factory worker there are tons of support workers who are needed as well.

It's easier to keep your jobs in Germany, when the janitorial staff, and people who do things like label crates aren't forced to be paid way more wages then it takes to pay someone in china to do the skilled work.

Only one group is winning this war and its not the worker.

Hell in the 70's with all the inflation take into acount, people working at Mc was 45% mor rich then today.

I worked at Burger King for 8 months in high school. The job was shitty (most of the time), but no way would I expect double what I was making, and I was pretty damn good too. I would've taken the manager job, if working there didn't drive me insane.

EDIT: The only thing a fast food strike will do is show them how easily and quickly they can be replaced.
