calm down people! the price cut effect will need some time and exposure to hit with some advertisements and killzone releasing so soon on the Vita will give it a boost along with its new tempting price. still it needs more support from Sony in bringing AAA games like GTA and GOW and GT and some new IPs exclusively for the handheld.

plus the memory cards needs to be a lot cheaper too!

Anything below 100% boost next week would be very very bad

No, it wouldn't be very very bad.  If the only people who know about the price cut are people waiting for games or already have a Vita, then vitas are not going to be sold.  Realistically that's what a lot of people are going to be.  They need to advertise it.

console generally had a 300% boost after a big price cut

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Honestly if they want any traction in the West, they should redesign it into an Android based Vita Xperia phone.

"Dudebros" audience and jock gamer audience don't want a game handheld period and Sony can't compete against Nintendo for the kids market. That's the problem, it has to be a phone or tablet first.

They need to revisit this idea, but make the hardware better and actually support it with new games:

A combination of games and advertisement would suffice. Vita is a great piece of hardware, developers need to have more faith in it.

I refuse to beleive these numbers are accurate. They may not be as high as I predicted (37k) but they sure as hell aren't below 10k. But if they are actually below 10k then fuck Sony for not advertising the Vita at all.

The Vita actually has a better lineup the rest of the year than the 3DS but nobody will know since they're won't be a single ad for any of the games.

I tink VGChartz is heavily undertracking Vita in NA and Europe, which they often do when it sells well there. I mean, it was doing (and still is) very well at Amazon USA and Amazon UK. Waiting for adjustments.

just giving you a heads up, dont expect it. #s should be very close, it sold bad, maybe killzone will push it?.... maybe

thats just wrong... Pokemon XY+LoZ>>>Vita library 2013 holiday. Dont get me started with japan. If you like vita lineup more cool, but pokemon is handheld king

Why do you make this thread if you don't even like vita? or I'm wrong? Anyway, all we know already what needs, more exclusive games and make sure that people knows about the price cut.

All but the last option. While the Vita's library is pretty large (sitting at over 200 to date) it needs some more recognizably unique games. I can't remember the last time I saw one advertised. The price of memory cards is still expensive. PS4 connectivity, IF remote play functions well (shoddy on PSP/PS3), it will help the system sell. Holidays are fast approaching and with the new consoles likely to be sold out or very hard to find during the two biggest shopping months of the year Vita will be an attractive alternative to a shiny new console, especially with the renewed emphasis on remote play (for those planning on getting a PS4).

Despite all that I say we need to wait to see the sales data over the holidays to see where Vita is in NA and Europe.

They need to market Killzone, because seriously, if I didn't already have a Vita, that would make me want one! o_O

They need to make people more aware of the fantastic games lineup the system already has because when I tell people I'm playing this or that on Vita, they're like "that's on it?!"

No games arguement is getting as old now as it is totally ignorant. The Vita has got arguably the best lineup of current hand held devices especially as far as 2013 releases are concerned. It's just there is a total lack of awareness and constant shower of bull being spouted from 3DS fanboys perpetuating the belief.

A couple of big name heavy hitters wouldn't go amiss either. But there's certainly no shortage of high quality software to play.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I think it's accurate. I noticed the pricecut didn't take affect in many parts of Europe immediately, so I think this week we'll see a boost in Europe. NA has completely failed at advertising the vita...notice on Amazon the only place kilzone merc isn't in bestsellers is NA. I think vita has a bright future in Europe, but is going to die in NA because  SCEA doesn't seem to care.
