Which first and/or second party developers do you like that are under Nintnedo's belt?

EAD, but they are multiple teams. Intelligent systems is a rising star though, not to mention Monolith.

Game Freak deserves credit for making the best game series ever though :D But they are not really under Nintendo's belt.

Retro Studios.

Metroid Prime is still one of the best games ever made.
Prime 2 is their worst title, yet it's still a very good game and puts most dev's best work to shame.
Prime 3 is almost as great as the first, and pioneered core motion controls done right.
DKCR did for 2D platformers what Prime 1 did for action-adventure games, modernizing the genre and pushing it into bold new territory.

There are few devs on the planet worthy to stand alongside Retro.

If Tropical Freeze can improve on the already incredible DKCR, we could be looking at one of the greatest platformers ever made. 6th December cannot come soon enough.

It really depends on what type of game you are talking about them making and it changes which studio because they each have their strengths and weaknesses.

Intelligent Systems for Fire Emblem Series, probably my favorite from the company.

This is the best question ever, because you basically get 2 for the price of 1.

Because Nintendo's best director is Masahiro Sakurai, and yet he does not officially work for Nintendo. He works for Sora, Ltd., which he owns, so he works for himself.

Anyway I voted for EAD because Zelda.

Nintendo-era Rare and Miyamoto made games, so this means I had an adoration for Nintendo development brilliance in the N64 era and pre-N64 eras.

Since neither are applicable, I say Chuck Norris.
