Oh, it's much bigger than that. I think the PS4 and Xbone will be canceled altogether now.
People who wants a PS4 or XB1 already have 400/500 dollars in their wallet for their console of choice.
Why would a price cut from 350 to 300 dollars change anything, as they already rejected the wii u despite being cheaper ?
There would be cancellation if XB1 was going 400 dollars for example, but wii u price cut will not change anything for PS4 and X1 preorders.

I already own a Wii U, but I don't see why I would cancel a pre-order, its basically a lay away and lets us pay it down over time before release. I am certainly not canceling my PS4 pre-order, though that Wind Waker gamepad has me thinking if only my Wii U purchases were strictly account based by now... Anyway, no, it should not, unless you pre-ordered an XBone, in which case, bad move on your part.
| pezus said: This just in: WiiU's entry price is now only $299! "Hold on," you say, "isn't this the same as before?" No, let me tell you, you can now get the deluxe model along with the Zelda WW remake for that price! The value is now significantly greater.
Having said that, do you expect people to cancel their PS4/One pre-orders en masse now that WiiU is more compelling than ever? |
Is this a serious thread?
I think it's a fair question, but it really depends on who the buyer is. If we're talking about early adopters that are really just interested in Sony/MS products, then no.
If we're talking about early adopters who are just rich families and were going for a family console but were not convinced in the WiiU and went for the other two instead, this could sway them. Yes, rich people also compare prices. I know, I was raised in a rich family.
No.
Although, I have to say, that bundle is by far the most tempting thing I've seen yet from the Wii U camp. I'd love to have it, if I had the money to spare.

No, people won't cancel pre-orders. But, why aren't Nintendo making a bigger deal out of the price cut (it's worldwide cut, isn't it?). I had no idea it was made cheaper.

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030
While someone out there will, the pre-orders are by the biggest XB/PS fans and they'll still get it even if the price cuts finally convinces them to get a WiiU as well.
