The PS3 outsold the 360 every year since it came out. It just took Sony a while to overcome that 1 year headstart. The Wii hasn't been selling well for a while now so non-issue.

I didn't say otherwise... I said it just surpassed the 360, nothing about a year head-start. It also didn't outsell te 360 every year. Go look for yourself.
Sings true with sonys statement that they are over 1 million. 400,000 for eu and Japan is easily plausible.
xbox one sounds about right to. The e3 debacle played nicely into sonys hands pre launch. Be interesting to see if Microsoft can work hard to come back like Sony did. Microsoft will have to produce loads of new ips and loads of exclusives. They will have to raise their game. They can do it, but they have to be flawless for the whole generation.
one things for certain. Sony wont slow up. And people love their exclusives. So its game on.

You're right - there are 2 years where the 360 sold more:
Year - 360 v PS3
2007 - 7.3 v 8.7
2008 - 10.8 v 10.7
2009 - 10.2 v 12.4
2010 - 12.1 v 14.4
2011 - 14.9 v 14.1
2012 - 10.1 v 15 (includes 3 Quarters of PS2)

Amazon Japan does not have the PS4 available for preorder yet so 400k seems to be for EU only.

Is this deal for real?? If so is it also available on the US???? PS4 + 2 Controllers + KZ for 500....
I bet PS4 will sell in Europe as much as USA....If USA have 600k preorders, I say Europe have at least 500-550k too

That bolded statement can be debated, as it is being by others. In addition, focusing only on one part of one generation as some kind of 'proof' that the PS4 is outselling the XOne because it's cheaper is not good reasoning. It's also belittling the fact that a great many people are buying the PS4 because of what it is compared to the competition. Not simply because it's cheaper. At the rate the PS4 is going it will easily surpass the Wii U which is a cheaper product. Obviously, the price wouldn't be the reason the PS4 outsold it. Just like it wasn't the reason the PlayStation 2 and Xbox outsold the Gamecube, or why the PlayStation outsold the Nintendo 64, or why the SNES outsold the Genesis. I could go on and even dive into other industries if need be or other parts of this industry. Price is one reason the PS4 is outselling the XOne. To make it sound like it is the only reason is ridiculous, though. Let us also consider that indications in Europe place the PS4 far ahead of the XOne by comparison to the North American market. If the gaps in Europe are true, I can assure you that dropping the XOne to an even price would still see the XOne behind. I don't even think I need to mention Japan. We couldn't even be certain by how much the XOne would catch up. To say that it would be even or the XOne would be ahead would be a prediction based on little more than personal bias.

Great post. Obviously the "It's cheaper" bs is coming from other camps.. Wii-u is cheaper. 360 was cheaper...many reasons people buy a product, pirce is just 1. Many look at many features before deciding. Anyone who says it is just because it is cheaper is calling every stupid?

Yeah, that's a bit surprising.
Impressive numbers for KZ, but note that COD & BF4 are also on the PS360 (where they will sell more) |
The ratio only increased if you are using VGC PRE-E3 data. Considering that the mass pre-orders and hate on the internet was directly following E3, with rumors of the whole 4:1 ratio in favor of PS4, I think the ratio has actually decreased a ton since the Xbox One policy changes. To be honest, with how inaccurate the VGC pre-orders have been lately (constant large adjustments, directly going against released data in some cases), I wouldn't be surprised if the US numbers were actually closer to 450-500k vs 600k. If MS can keep pre-orders open until launch, I'm sure they will be pretty much tied. At this point it is purely a supply thing for launch pre-orders. Whoever ships more, will sell more.
Right out the gate, the available numbers were like 40-50 PS4 vs 10 Xbox One's per store, but since then both MS and Sony have allocated a ton more units. Of which, both have sold out of day one/launch editions and most places can either no longer guarantee launch day delivery of standard editions or are quickly approaching that. I think Walmart is the last place I know of that you can still pre-order in store, in the US and that's because they just started taking pre-orders of both PS4 and Xbox One on 8/24.
