Forums - Sales - View of Wii-fit from a non-Wii owner's prespective (No Wii owners allowed)

@superchunk

no, I still rather not Wii owners to respond. lol, it will avoid some confrontation to say the least.

but thanks for your opinion.

if you don't mind me asking, what's the true potential of Wiifit? I've heard snowboarding games or racing games (pedals),

Well, I think Wii Fit as a package will do really well. The idea of quick and easy diet sells well and once this hits the states girl mags and other stuff will be all over it. Plus, a lot of people that the Wii is currently appealing to due to Wii Sports will be turned on by something like this.

As for the balance board itself, it will really only benefit Nintendo. I don't see any massive 3rd party uses of the board. In the beginning there will be some attempts, but they would not do well and in the end Nintendo will be the only real benefitor to the device.

I have a Bowflex in my basement, I used to work out for 4 times a week, and then it became 2, and now it's once a month, you know what I'm saying. lol

I know what you are saying. If I was the kind of guy who didn't workout, and thought the WiiFit was going to change that, i would probably just do that for a month and stop.

I am 38, and date a 26 year old aerobics instructor. She is motivation enough to not get fat. So regardless of if I like it or not, I am going to be working out. I would just like to find something that makes it a little more fun :).

Hopefully, this is it! The Spin Bike definitely wasn't :p

You can play Namco Family Ski with it.

kingofwale, I own a Wii. Why don't you want to hear my opinion?

Yeah, Hawk, Thanks for your input! In fact, even with the title, I still wouldn't mind any subjective answer from Wii owners, as long as they don't troll around bashing others who disagree with them.

>I workout 6 days a week. I have in my workout room $4,000 worth of equipment. I use it all the time, but it's just not terribly fun.

then wiifit may be PERFECT for you....u can work out on the bowflex and tell wiifit that you did that and it will include it in your stats...it can be your motivator...it isn't limited to only doing exercises on the balance board

where did I say I want "balanced" answer? Please quote me.

I want what PS3/360 owner's opinion, that is all, I will not repeat myself again.

>but if WiiFit really does a good job of making exercise fun, I will buy it even if I never buy a game for the system (of course I will by 1 or 2 games I am sure)

Thanks, please let us know... say... 2 months after you get the game, and tell us if you are still working out. lol, the major thing about work out machine is that people lose interest quickly. So, please feel free to comment back

Yeah, I think your posts speak for themselves.

Yes, if you've been to Moscow, this isn't the thread for you, so please restrain from participating.

The purpose of this is for people who haven't been to Moscow, and hopefully untainted by patriotism. I know how Russian people feel about Moscow, I just need the view from others WITHOUT having flames thrown at them for expressing themselves.

As for me, I really don't know why the big hypes. I can understand the hypes of New York, and London and I can see myself going to those cities and enjoying myself deeply, but I have absolutely no interest in Moscow.  I've seen photos of Moscow and it just seems kind of bleh to me.  Can anyone else that has never been to Moscow or Russia want to tell me how they feel about Russian people?

What do you think?

Asking PS3 and Xbox 360 owners their feelings about Wii Fit and then expecting answers that aren't "tainted by fanboyism" is just illogical and completely ridiculous.

You might as well survey only Nazis about whether Jews are decent people or not.

Now that I think of it, I might get a 3rd Wii when Wiifit comes out, so my girlfriend can have her very own.

I cannot understand why there are people out there who want this game so badly? I think part of it is that they want the Wii to succeed so much that they are willing to buy a game (can you really call it that?) that will probably gather alot of dust after the initial buzz of having a new game wears off and will see little use after a week.

Last time I checked, balancing on a board and doing gestures that the mini-games probably use will give you a slight cardio workout. Better then nothing, but nothing quite like the real thing. The joy of exercising for me involves the outdoors and getting fresh air. How motivated would a person be to exercise when they at first have poor cardio (most likely, we are gamers and many of us are far out of shape) and they have the TV right in front of them, and a couch right behind them and probably some hot pockets in the microwave.

Is it something that you will be forced to have so you are feigning interest in the game so your parents get off your back about playing games for too long in a day? That way you jump on your balance board and do your little "work out" for 5 minutes to placate your parents and then get back in couch potato position.

No matter what happens with this game, in no way would it convince me to go and buy a Wii and especially not buy this game. (Only way I'd buy a Wii is if my GF wanted one, but I wouldn't play it much and not wiifit at all). They could promise me one free hooker and I still wouldn't buy this game. (Unless the hooker is Scarlett Johansson).
