Interesting stuff. I'm impressed with what Turn 10 came up with for using the cloud, and I'll be keeping my eyes open for more fascinating implementations from other studios. Hopefully Lionhead will be able to do some cool stuff with it for Fable Legends.

And the more games with dedicated servers, the better.

The Azure infrastructure powering the Xbox One cloud is just awesome... A lot of people does not realize that...

Microsoft Azure and Amazon S3 are the only ones for now with this huge working infrastructure already in place to power their ambitious vision able to dynamically allocated an almost infinite number of VCPUs to remote devices.

That being said, Sony could actually use Azure or Amazon S3 to achieve the same thing (Apple is already using Azure/S3 for their iCloud).

Sony will be heavily invested in the cloud by the end of this gen whether they have to pay msft/amazon for it, someone else, or themselves.  But the Cloud does have a future in games so I expect Sony to go forward with it as well.

It's not really, it's actually pretty cool, but using it for console wars is bullshit. That's probably because the cloud is such a broad term that no one really knows which cloud people are talking about.

It shouldnt be used for console wars.  It will be a standard by the end of this gen.  Just like online was for 7th gen.  The only people using this or anything for that matter for fan wars are the.....you know what ill prob get banned if i say too much
