Forums - Gaming - EA: Shooter Rotation will be Battlefield, Titanfall and Battlefront.. kills Medal of Honor

Titanfall could go Multiplat, but maybe not. Maybe it will be Battlefield every year or 2 and mix in Battlefront here and there. Titanfall can remain an exclusive(not likely) to the XBOne and it wouldn't change much.

I am a huge Battlefield fan since 1942 and have owned all of them. I thought 3 was a giant disappointment. 2, 2142, and BC2 were far superior games.  4 does look pretty cool, but I think it will be the first one I havn't pre-rdered in a long time, after getting burned on 3's mediocrity.

Why is it mediocre? A lot o people say that anout BF3 but I'm not sure why.

Can you list your main criticisms?

I think it's strange they have three in rotation. Between BF Bad Company 2 and BF3 was only 1.5 years and between BF3 and BF4 will only be two year, so it seems DICE is able to pump out Battlefield games at least bi-yearly.

Perhaps the rotation will be:
Battlefield - Titanfall - Battlefield - Battlefront

Might as well just give the Medal of Honor license to Nintendo, but I don't think they even care about repairing that relationship.

Lol.. EA will probably make a F2P game with microtransaction and some iOS games with the name MoH before something like that would happen

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

While it was surely by no means a terrible game, here are my honest opinions on it:

The bad: Huge balance issues, mediocre maps, exploits, super ugly Blue hue over the whole screen, input lag for some folks and not others, constant various score stats going nonstop on the center of screen, Terrible singleplayer, far less destruction than the previous game, medpacks for assault class, horrible server side management of latency caused by out of region players (which has never been an issue in any other BF game), tons of people intentionally joining game modes to try and ruin it for others in various ways which constantly makes the teams uneven.  The good: graphics, capture the flag, some cool weapons, good animations, prob best machineguns ever in BF game, pretty cool motion blur effects in certain sequences, jets were pretty well done

Most major issue by far was the maps.  They simply were not as good as multiple other games in the series...I greatly hope 4 addresses this, and from the videos so far it seems it may.

Titanfall sequel could be multi. I think it's time to let go of the first coming to PS4. With 2-3 years to develop the sequel, that'd be a waste of resources for what could be a year old game (depending on the length of the exclusivity agreement). And PS owners seem to have a disdain for late ports of Xbox games (see Bioshock and Mass Effect 2).

?

6 BioShock PS3 2008 Shooter Take-Two Interactive 0.64 0.32 0.01 0.19 1.16
4 Mass Effect 2 PS3 2011 Role-Playing Electronic Arts 0.72 0.19 0.03 0.33 1.27

Even as late ports they sold over a million. That is as far from disdain as you can get.

OT: The best thing about this is further Battlefront confirmation. Hope we'll see it soon.

That's 5 years for Bioshock and nearly 3 years for ME2.  And, considering how critically acclaimed those games were and the install base of the PS3, those numbers aren't as impressive as you make them out to be.

MoH died because EA was associated with it. Only a matter of time for Battlefield.

I hope they lose the SW license before they kill off Battlefront, and I hope Respawn gets big enough to leave the EA Partners Program.

EA brought the downhill of MoH upon themselves.

MoH should've never become a CoD clone.

I don't get it why there is no WWII FPS anymore, I can't imagine it won't sell.

I caught a little of "Saving Private Ryan" on HBO the other day and it made me wish someone would make an exceptionally good WWII game now with modern graphics and game mechanics...  It could be sooo good if just done right with every weapon used in WWII...
