Forums - Nintendo - is Digital Foundry biased?

So is Digital Foundry biased?

Yes they are a bunch of anti-Nintendo fanboys 43 31.62%

Maybe a little bit but Ni... 13 9.56%

They don't prefer one ov... 12 8.82%

Maybe they like Sony more 14 10.29%

Maybe they like Microsoft more 37 27.21%

Of course Ninjablade secretly works for them 16 11.76%

Total:135

I think Digital Foundry is a biased especially against Nintendo.  Their comparison's especially don't make sense (a tie for visuals on Trine 2?  NFS:MW write up was a lukewarm and was still kinda' downplaying the improvements of the port and now downplaying SC:Blacklist Wii U advantages) especially when looking at screens and having played diffrent versions of the games they compare. That's why I don't take their review/comparison as the only source of reference.  Why do you guys think?

It's far more likely that you're simply upset by their verdict than bias having occurred on their behalf.

I hope not but people are all a little biased. I watched the comparison vids and it looked like the Wii U was the obvious choice. Not sure how it wound up in last place.

I wouldn't worry too much, they are usually biased the other end of the scale when it comes to game reviews for Nintendo platforms, so it all equals out :)

It's not that...I would respect their review if it made sense.  However, most of their comparisons mostly mentions the deficiencies in Nintendo's version while downplaying their advantages.  Would it kill them to say that SC:Blacklist and Trine 2 was superior to their sub-HD counterparts?

Just because a game looks better doesn't make it the better version.

With regards to splinter cell, the digital foundry article clearly stated it was the better looking version between the console versions. But when comparing the performance, the WiiU version dropped down to 20 FPS during action packed sequences with occasional freezes etc.

This is why they gave the nod to the two other console versions which are much more stable.

Personally, ive always felt that the digital foundry comparison articles are completely unbiased given the hard evidence that the articles are based on. Its not like they making up the performance issues or resolution etc.

I have no idea but it would appear that a person is biased if he/she put a thread like this in a certain company's section instead of the general gaming section. For example, I immediately knew who Digital Foundry was suspected to be biased against.

Um...I don't know about that one.  I still think they are butt-hurt that they prematurely revealed the 3DS was using a Tegra processor when in fact it wasn't.  Their Latte GPU assesment was actually quite sad and full of biased speculations.

Most internet sites without the word " Nintendo" in them are biased towards Nintendo. It is the cool thing to do and you will get hits on your site or sales of your magazine. That is why EGM has lasted this long and Xbox Magazine.

I have never been to digital foundry, but I hate them as of right now.

I would have gone to them more often if it wasn't for their blatant bias.  Oh well, at least I have lensoftruth, notenoughshaders etc to go to for refrerences.

They consider more things than just the image itself. If that's all you base your decision on, then you probably won't agree. They factor in many aspects including frame integrity, aliasing, etc.

They did conclude that Trine 2 looked better on Wii U so I don't understand what upsets you there. With SC it came down to whether you put an emphasis on visual beauty or integrity - if you prefer better textures with some tear then Wii U is not the best choice. If you prefer worse textures with no tear, then it is.
