Xbox One shipment forecast for 2013, says paper -->

Microsoft has recently lowered its Xbox One shipment forecast for 2013 from seven million units originally to 6.2 million due to poor yield rates of the device's camera module, optical disc drive (ODD) and related assembly, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report citing market watchers.

Related upstream suppliers such as Global Unichip, Nuvoton Technology and Newmax, are expected to be impacted by the lower shipments, the report added.

So both the PS4 and the Xbox One will probably out sell the Wii U by the end of the year.   The Wii U really might be dead by the end of 2014

10 million doesn't seem far-fetched with 1m+ preorders.

They want enough shipped so they have enough stock and make it 3 months until the next shipment. XBO seems in line with this thinking as well.

My feeling as well. Besides, I read, somewhere, that Sony was planning to shiop quite a bit of units, far more than 6 million by the end the FY.

If that were true dont you think gamestop and amazon would still be taking preorders?

I'm pretty sure that is what they are projecting to have, not what they actually have right now.

Even if they miss that and only hit 6million they would have more than enough to fill nonstop orders for the month and a half it will be out this year plus going into jan/feb.

It may be a case of they have a certain percentage/amount promised to each of their retailers like gamestop, amazon walmart, best buy, etc.

10 mi is impossible even if they started production last month, Sony would have to be assenbling 2mi unities a month to match the 10mi figure.

I don´t think that even teh Wii ever shipped 2mi a month or sold  10mi in one quarter.

6mi is more realistic, but is still a very high number for Sony or Microsoft.

However it´s feaseble that Microsoft could came up with a 2bi marketing budget and swallow the PS4 internet good will train.

You're thinking Calender year. I'm talking about Fiscal. Shipping 6 million by year's end is hardly impossible.

So, you are talking about 2 quarters ending March 2014 with a Jan/Feb Japan and Asia release?

Well, 10mi is still high, but not impossible.

Honestly i wasnt even expecting 4 million shipped.

Yeah, these numbers seem absurdly high. Even with the lowered forecast, they'd be expecting to ship more than the Wii U will likely sell in a year (up to November 2013), and more than Vita has sold in a year and a half in only 2 months.

This is seriously amateur tabloid trash.

Even witht th absurdly numbers I expect PS4 and Xbone to outsell Wii U at launch buy a lot.
