Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Hot Chips: Xbone Silicon (5b transistors, 363mm2, 8GB Flash, 1.31TFlops, 204GB/s peak BW)

Bull confirmed.

I loved the hopes... the guy was wrong... he was thinking the Xbone and PS4 have another GPU, a discrete one.

This thread is such a mind fuck for me lolz...

So ~5 - 1.31 = 3.69.  What's the performance of the cpu in TFs?

You did understand that the 1.31TF is only the GPU, right?

Sony's 3.2 comes from 3.2 total - 1.84 for the GPU = 1.36 for the CPU

I'm not saying it's 5TF.  That's what that chain of comments says, which is what the OP asks.  The only thing is, the "insider" suggests that there is a discrete GPU, and as afar as I knew there wasn't one.  If there's a discrete GPU, then it would be APU (CPU+GPU)+dGPU = 5TFlops.  That would make sense, in order of reaching 5TF and would fit early rumors that the Xbox One was using two GPUs.  Unless the dGPU is another wafer, I don't see it however.

No... your link said the MS and Sony are hidding a discret GPU.

Bullshit... the Insider said it was wrong already.

PS. The guy even linked my thread here

So, in conclusion....., xbox one as expected, better or worse????

The leaked specs are now official... the RAW POWER is the same but there are some good things like the 8GB Flash (for recorder feature? or instant power on?), some coop processors to free up the CPU/GPU, etc.

Overall what we saw before.

Well, I guess you realize the unjustified hate Sony has spread throughout the industry. It has had a huge impact on Microsoft and its Xbox division. It has seen MS tighten-up their NDA and even forced some Xbox executives to resign.

The last 4 months have been too risky to contact you due to the stricter rules, I would have risked way to much. However, the best way to let you know the truth was to work harder then I ever have. The people behind the Xbox brand stand by the truth, we do not play media games with Sony.

The proof is in the pudding with regards to how powerful we said the Xbox One really is, and Sony's credibility is out the window. The games and devotion that the Xbox One has is even more of a driving force then with windows. The games will speak for themselves.

The Xbox One is an extremely powerful device and it really does pack the raw graphics performance of a high-end PC and it is more powerful then 1.85TFlops. I'll say why I think this is.

Many people are fooling themselves. I expect a few well known forums to start putting out the trash (banning members). The Hot Chips conference will show enough to prove that Sony have lied.

Wafer2Wafer APU + discrete GPU with 680GTX level gains.
A custom designed DDR3 HSA+ GCN2.0+

Edit:  Not going to continue this considering that the inside info wasn't accurate.  Better confusingly inaccurate than understandibly inaccurate.

OK, thanks for the info, most of us don't understand anything of this. VGC would be helpless without some of you guys!!

 that Sony have lied.

That includes and all the developers that said ps4 is more powerfull?

No there are a lot of things we didn't see before and we still don't know how performance will be. By numbers, ps4 is better but the architectures are so different, all the helper-chips (SHAPE! Man, what a chip!), I can't figure out how this will translate for games.

Actually isn't it slightly higher than expected?  I thought it was expected to be mid-upper 1.2x range.  Not the 1.3x range.
