One can call it doomed, but we dont really know the development budget. Its not like its a graphically intensive game.

Read that http://www.examiner.com/article/hideki-kamiya-concerned-about-nintendo-s-lack-of-marketing-for-wonderful-101

Kamiya took his frustration to Twitter, saying the company has spent a substantial amount more on Wonderful 101 than they did to make the first Bayonetta title.

That was before they gave him a fully dedicated Nintendo direct. But what he says about the cost of the game is worrying. It seems like Nintendo doesnt believe they will see returns.

I'll just wait 'till the Global Sales are tallied up before making a decision on whether it flopped or not.

Waiting is the only way to know for sure, but I like to live dangerously, making wild predictions like this. ;)

this whole thing reminds me of No More Heroes, Conduit, Madworld, pretty much any game that is exclusive niche and some people still swear it will sell well. Anyone who thought this game was going to sell needs to really check their love for whatever company they love. The proof is in the pudding, it could leg out but for now...

Yeah thats the part I was trying to push was the cost, Considering Bayonetta sold nearly 2million across both platforms they would be wanting this to do probably around 2.5 million on the WiiU if this cost 1.5 times the amount of Bayonetta. First week Japan is looking like it sold around 10k which one put it in the area of one of the biggest flops of all time. Even less than Killer is Dead which was considered a HUGE failure.

Killer is dead seems to be a bad game though, whereas W101 seems to be decent. The visual presentation viewtful joe style should've given it off though.

This game would really benefit from some air time on children's networks like Disney and Nickelodeon.

Conduit wasn't niche, it just wasn't very good.

fair enough, doesnt change the fact that the game got hype that it didnt deserve and people were predicting high numbers that it didnt even come close to matching

You're right, it doesn't change that.

I'm just saying that the reason was because it wasn't a quality game, not because it was too niche or there wasn't an audience.
