After reading this, all I can say is..."Nintendo, Sony please buy some  Rare IPs, or at least Banjo Kazooie!!!!! D:"

They can't.  Microsoft owns the IPs, along with the studio.

Rare has been working with Kinect since day one.  If there is any development team that is capable of doing right by both their original IPs and Kinect, it's the Rare team.

That said, had you posted the actual article, which hopefully others would have read, he wasn't talking Kinect exclusive games.  He was talking games that could utilize both the controller and Kinect.  This is just me throwing an possible idea out there, but you could potentially have a game where kids can interactively play using Kinect and more "core" gamers could play with a controller.

I wished he would have mentioned something about Kameo.  As games go, that would be an awesome game to use voice commands to change to your form with or use special attacks.

In this thread -> people who didnt read the link in the OP

Optional is good. Dont force Kinect into games that dont need Kinect. This is the way it should be.

lol I love how the ninty fans trash Kinect when the Wii/U is the most motion control centric console of them all and not even the best at it at that....

to their credit: They were talking about " kinect-enhancements" and that you would still play the game with a controller.....with that said:

I wish they would just let the IPs rest forever, Nuts and Bolts was a pretty good game, but a terrible B&K....and I´m not sure if they still have the talent to make good games in those franchises after the huge restructuring/castration after N&B bombed....

My opinion is The Simpson's sucked after Season 7 when Conan O'Brien left the writing staff (I didn't know the latter until later), but the show is on it's 23rd/24th? season and some poeple claim it's still an awesome show.

If you bring writers and artists into the fold that have the same creative inspiration as the people that worked on the original games, then you have success.

Kameo was a good game with a great story.  I personally really liked it and I'm not a Rare fan.  Granted that was before Nuts & Bolts, but I think they're still a capable group of people.

As for the restructuring, it wasn't a castration.  Only a small number of positions were eliminated.  19 in fact.  In the art department.  Because they became contractors instead of full-time employees.  23 Rare employees were promoted to managing art directors for other teams within Microsoft.

Not really sure why Rare would even mention Kinect when they know the backlash they will get even if it's an optional feature. Personally, it doesn't matter to me, but I know how gamers get when you mention the word kinect.

You it could just be voice controls right? Have you seen what kinect 2.0 can do?

lol at saying Nintendo.....which is the king of motion gaming, to buy Rare Ips.

I have to say I've not enjoyed the direction that Rare has gone in over the last few years but if that is what they want to do and it makes people happy then more power to them.

A new Banjo-Kazooie game or Perfect Dark game with or without Kinect could be good depending on how its implemented, but also keep in mind that the originals are good and still there if you'd like to go play them.

I look at it like this, the original Donkey Kong Country games were brilliant, and the new one (soon to be two) from Retro are also, while different, brilliant in their own rights - but even if they hadn't have been it doesn't detract from how awesome the originals were and doesn't hurt me one bit.

Good to see Rare with a lot of good ideas. We can see several game with Kinect enhancements out there working very well; I would be very happy to see one of these games with Kinect features!
