I'm kind of in a predicament. I always wanted the WiiU, but currently the price and lack of games for the time being have been holding me back. I am excited for Wonderful 101, Wind Waker, Pikmin 3, and Mario 3D World. The PS3 recently dropped its price to $200, which I would use for some exclusives/HD console exclusives I've always wanted to play like God of War, Uncharted, and The Last of Us. I've always been a Nintendo gamer only recently venturing into PC gaming.

If I get a PS3 and buy games for it, I would delay my purchase of the WiiU from a Black Friday sale to sometime next year (but I want to play Mario Kart 8 right when it's released, and that wouldn't be guaranteed if I got the PS3). Reverse would be true if I got the WiiU.

What do you guys think would be best for me?

If you think that buying a PS3 would delay your buying Mario Kart than you should go with the WiiU, I know how important that one is to ya.

If you like Nintendo games get WiiU and if you like Sony and 3rd party games get PS3 as you won't get as many 3rd party games on a Nintendo console even though things are looking better for the WiiU for this holiday period at least

Before I got my PS3 in 2011, all I played was mostly Nintendo systems. If you get a PS3, you won't regret it. Now is the perfect time to buy, the system is cheap, and you can get tons of great games for great prices.

I'd save your money and get PS4 or Xbox One. Only a $50 difference in price for Wii U to PS4.

I considered that. The problem is that PS4 won't be backwards compatable, and there aren't enough games announced for the PS4 that entice me to get one this year as opposed to other options. Same applies to Xbox One, although that could be backwards compatable, but I prefer Sony games over Microsoft games from what I've played.

Get the Wii U. Nintendo needs you!

I bought the WiiU day one and have not regretted it. Pikmin is really very good, and lots more are coming in the next few months.

Wii U, wait for a bit and for the PS3....its up to you, rather you want one now or wait for the PS4.

It's simple, since the PS4 won't play PS3 games and you didn't have one yet, YOU HAVE to buy a PS3, especially with the price cut, the HUGE catalogue (the best of this gen) and the non-stop new AAA titles still being released.

Then wait for a Wii U cut price and more games to be availble to buy one.
