It's kind of smart dude. Its like bait to a fish. MS knows how to kick the door down and enter the party, the problem is whether they know how to stay at the top.

Are we...are we trying to spin this into a bad thing? How could this possibly be spun into a bad thing?

Dedicated servers just means it's for that game and that game only, meaning quicker connections and more stable online.

Yes...especially when Microsoft pays EA $ 400 million, for special treatment on Madden for their devices? Anyway, I was told that it was just preorder games, so that brought it down a lot. fifty million is near the cost it takes to make the average high budget game. 


people do realize that if they want.... MS could just buy FIFA 14 of the shelf and pack it with the box or give a download code for it and pay off the retail price to EA.... that would mean that if they have 1 million preorder in Europe it would cost them 60 million tops..... so seriously stop far fetching stuff.... it's ridiculous

the deal of 400 million is with the NFL not EA.... completely different business, completely different magnitude.... it's actually a cheap deal when you see the cost of sport licencing and medi rights in general

 

and it's a deal over 5 years.... so yeah really cheap actually

I Don't see why the Fifa thing is so big in Europe. I mean it will only be bundled for free with pre-orders (and it depends on how much they have in stock). And it will release in 2014 in other countries in europe. So a few european countries will have to wait to make use of this deal. I can see it making a big bump of sales in the UK but for the rest of europe I'm not too sure.

I also really hope Sony's press conference is a bit more exciting than the MS one.

EDIT: Nevermind apparently the countries in europe where xbox will release in 2014 wont get FIFA, but they might get two other games.

If you say so (im not going to rationalize this). Oh yes, another question: How much do you think Microsoft paid Epic for Gears? Technically they have to pay to supplment lost profit on the second console. Overall, how much do you think was all together?

Last gen everyone was boasting Xbox Live gave COD dedicated servers. Whoever came up with the lie lied to everyone, because it was player hosted. This gen I think the PS4 and Xbone will have dedicated servers. The PS4 supports cloud functionality and game steaming. The thing is cloud support isnt manditory. The reason I say this it most likely will be bundled in with PSN Plus, kind of like how MS puts everything that matters online into Gold.
