I hope it direct control more like da2. I hated the combat for dao.

Not sure what I just watched - he talks about tactical combat, mentions old-school approach we'll see in Wasteland 2 and Eternity, and then they show usual action-RPG mechanics!?!

Really wish they go back to either Baldur's Gate or KOTOR approach for their party based games. In games where you're solo hero, I have no objections about action oriented gameplay (quite the contrary).

I can't wait, I love this franchise.

What I'm hoping for is that it's a bit more open like DA:O but with the speed and combat improvements of DA2. Keep in mind that I'm talking about on PC and that I play with full control of the party using pause, not as a single-player hack'n'slash. I have no intention of ever playing these games on a console.

Since they seem to be showing off the console version here, there isn't much I can take away from it.

You seem under the impression the console version of Origins played different.  It was identical to the PC with the single exception of that you couldn't use the overhead camera.  You still had full party control and the pause in combat ability and so forth.

I don't know about Origins but I've heard a lot of people complain about the console version of DA2 because they said it played like a hack'n'slash.  I don't know if that's the case or not, and I don't really care, but I've learned to always state that I'm talking about the PC version, otherwise people yell at me for enjoying DA2 and liking some of the features that it brought to the table.

My most awaited game after Dark Souls 2.

It's going to be so fantastic, especially now that it's open world. And it seems they're being influenced by Dark Souls in the combat.

Unfortunately i do not have the balls for Dark Souls 2. I am very excited for Inquisition it is looking very different from Dragon Age 2 which is good and with the addition of races the game is going to have tons of replyability like origins.

Yeah I putted around 200 hours into Origins if you include Awakening and some re-plays. Love it so much.

I loved DA2 too. It wasn't as great as Origins, but it had that special DA atmosphere and was a crazy good game after all.

As long as they make a deep game I don't care too much exactly which type of battle system they choose (I might prefer Origins party based tactical rather than Dark Souls twitch based action for Dragon Age but either case will satisfy me). By deep I mean lots of complex stats and items and stuff.

I don't know about how the stat system will work, but i think that we will be able to customize our party members so that should bring up more items and customization options then DA2 as origins did.

I think the combat is shaping up very nicely, but I don't think it's at all honest that they're comparing it to Origins. Origins had none of the fancy footwork and dodging and attacking from behind; it was about choosing your attacks to work together.

But honestly, I think this is better. To me, at least, Origins didn't really have any depth in the combat unless you played as a mage (which I did): most of the time, I just set Alistair and Leliana to fight a given enemy and just spammed their attack abilities.
