You seem under the impression the console version of Origins played different. It was identical to the PC with the single exception of that you couldn't use the overhead camera. You still had full party control and the pause in combat ability and so forth.

I don't know about Origins but I've heard a lot of people complain about the console version of DA2 because they said it played like a hack'n'slash. I don't know if that's the case or not, and I don't really care, but I've learned to always state that I'm talking about the PC version, otherwise people yell at me for enjoying DA2 and liking some of the features that it brought to the table.
