i wouldnt know. if Nintendo still did what they did without him then sure, Mario isnt why i love them but without him they may never have been THAT company

Maybe mario kart would become a toon f-zero, or diddy kong racing would still among us.

Yes, because my first Nintendo games weren't even Mario games, the games that got me into Nintendo were Donkey Kong Country and Super Metroid, and I immediately liked Nintendo there after that. But good thing they had Mario there, because Mario games made me like Nintendo even more when I first entered the world of gaming. 

Without Mario gaming would be completely different today, but assuming everything would stay the same then yes, because it's not like there are other options.

It depends on if they released their games on a Playstation console after they went 3rd party. If they didn't, then no. If they did, then maybe if they started to release mature games.
