I like how it will complement your TV setup and not stick out like a sore thumb (Gamecube comes to mind).

Yea, what was up with that?  I make it look like it was made out of legos.

Now, I love the colour indigo, but I that was part of the reason it was consider the 'kiddie' console of it's generation.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Hey don't diss on the cube, that thing was solid, something that you could take and use anywhere without fear of breaking. I associate the xbox one more with our pos cable box pvr that we have had to replace 6 times already.
I hope it's possible to balance or clip Kinect on top of the tv, with a 2 and 4 year old it would not survive any lower. It's getting very crowded there already, 2 sensor bars and a ps eye, add a Kinect and the ps4 eye, might need a bigger tv for all that :)

Wait, why would you need two sensor bars?  Doesn't the Wii and WiiU use the same thing?

As far as clips.  This is not my TV, but pretty much what I do:

Yeah, but one kid can play on the WiiU gamepad, while the other (or me) uses the Wii on TV. Only one needs to be on at a time (it's just 2 leds after all) but I don't feel like switching it over depending what system I use. It works fine as long as they are stacked exactly on top of each other. Although I could just turn on the Wii to power the sensor bar while using the WiiU Wii functions.

Oh, I get it.  Hmm, I don't think anyone makes a splitter so that one Sensor Bar could be controlled by two devices.  I do something like that on my optical out as my Xbox 360 and Bluray share the same port on my reliever.

I stick my sensor bar right under my Kinect.  I'm not sure if that will work with the new one though.  The speaker array, is isolated, and close to the ground. But second thought, it should be fine, it has that telescoping base.  It can raise itself, what looks like at least an inch, perhaps more.

Why didn't he show the power brick, or is Microsoft trying to hide that?

well my issue is that I have a 250 watt central speaker under the TV lol

if I can put it really low then... like on the shelf where the XBox is on the picture you posted....we'll see I just wondered.... I will probably move before I get the XB1 so I'm already figuring out what kind of set up i'll need or get.... I will probably upgrade my entire set up (I really want a new TV :D )

Ah, that is a very nice speaker!

I have a Sony 5.1 sorround system.  I have my center speaker mounted at the top of the TV, and although it makes it a bit grumpy, I put my Kinect on top. I have added a few layers of different materials for sound dampening, and it does mess up my Kinect audio tracking a bit, but not enough, I still use it.   All the time.

Can you mount a shelf on the wall and put your center speaker up there?  Or you Kinect for your Xbox One?

Sort of like this with your speakr or Kinect, or like I do both. (but not ideal to do both.)

no drilling :D it's a rental and I don't plan to stay around here much....

I have a snake bite (I think that's the name) stand for the kinect 1 on top of my TV currently.... and since the central speaker is for voice amplification it is best set up at viewers head level, and it is calibrated that way.... I don't want to have to work weird angles and have sound bounce back from the ground and redo my entire set up..... well I'll have to do it anyway if I move but still it is a pain in the ass lol

but I'd rather keep my sound system coherant, to me a high end sound system is even more important than a good HD TV in terms of immersion.... Since I have my system I advise everybody I know to put more money in the sound system than the TV.... (still advising full HD) but if you want to pick a 3K TV and 1K sound system (speakers, subwoofer, and amplifier) I would adviste you to take a 1.5K TV or smaller and get 2.5K sound system (well room size and usage is also an element and this is just an illustration, you can find good cheaper compromise) but people often forget that a good sound system (treated properly) will still be excellent 20 years  from now... or more... it is a really long term investment just the amp might need to be changed to adapt to new technologies but still....

well anyway I want the kinect on top of the TV it will be the best spot for it for me my sound system and for it to track properly IMO.... I just would like to know in advance if I will be able to put it there out of the box or if I have to plan on buying a satnd at the same time and if there will be any.... or should I have a DIY project planed already to fit it on top of the TV like I did at first with the kinect .....

leave the power brick alone some people actually move around the globe and need to be able to change the brick to suite the power standard of the new location..... integrated power brick is the dumbest thing ever invented..... unless they have a universal power unit or one you can switch like on PCs..... but not a lot of product do that beside small electronics....

It's a bit chunky for my liking if i was looking just at the videos (ironically it looks bigger in the videos than the one i've seen in real life..)

But that kinect sensor looks like it could be problematic especially if you try and put it above the tv (my tv is nearly flush with the wall).

Colour/shape are both sensible design decisions and fit well within the living room. Not a big fan of external power supplies, but it depends on how they are presented. For example I have a TV with an external power supply, but they have a mount that mounts it behind the TV, so you ignore it. I dont think its a problem behind a tv cabinet or computer desk, more hassle if you move the console around (which is only going to be a very small number of people).

Can't agree more on the sound system. I spend more in the range of 4:1 in favor of sound, although that ratio diminishes over time as I'm on my 3rd tv since buying my speakers in 1996. They still sound excellent. I did buy a new amp last year to get one with HDMI inputs, and some new surround speakers in '07 to blend in better with the new house. I actually had a tv cabinet custom built to fit the center speaker.

Anyway I'll probably be buying a new tv before a xbox one and since they seem to get thinner and thinner with less and less border I'm also wondering how I'm going to put all those sensors and cameras on top. Does Kinect maybe work from an angle? Then I can put it on top of the right or left tower speaker. (Assuming it's heavy enough not to shake off)
