Considering that there was backlash immediately after the reveal event because of their revealed policies which they left virtually unchanged up until a week after E3 when many early indications were showing very few people pre-ordering the XOne, yeah they were influenced and it was far less to do with vocal consumer backlash and a lot more to do with how many people were ordering it versus how many were ordering the PS4. In other words, they saw people buying what Sony was selling. They cared about the money they were losing, not whether people had something to say about it. They don't love you. They love your money. Just like Sony or any other huge company. Regardless of by whose influence, the Xbox One went from being what it was to pretty much exactly the same thing as the PS4 minus the bundled camera and extra $100. From the online requirement to essentially blocking used games to having mutliple barriers to Indie devs and now the camera requirement. All backpedals and not because of their respect for the opinions of anyone.

Some of you guys really need to relax with the console wars and Im talking about people on both sides (MSFT, Sony, and apparently loyalty free gamers).
You all need to realize that these "Businesses" are not your friends. They however do push each other to make better products through competition on "Earning your money".

Sure they are hysterical, if you say so but if I am hysterical to compliment your insult, you're in denial. You see if you were so correct and Sony wasnt responsible for one thing, the Xbone would be exactly....the same.
If Sony had followed suit with DRM and used games the walls would not have crumbled for MS and forced them to not segment their market without thinking. People would not have run to Sony begging that they don't follow Microsoft or question them everytime MS screwed up. It will be a much tighter race now.
