Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo, Your Restrictions On Demos Are Just Silly

- I downloaded the demo for The Wonderful 101, and was surprised to find this message pop up telling me that I would only be allowed to run the demo 20 times. Now, of course I don't plan on playing a demo more than once or twice, as I'm sure most people don't. Which is why I find it so odd that Nintendo would put this restriction in place. If any game is good enough that I would play the demo more than 20 times, then I'll be buying it to play the full experience before ever getting to that point.

does this Restriction effect you?

"Now, of course I don't plan on playing a demo more than once or twice, as I'm sure most people don't."

- If a restriction doesn't really restrict anyone, is it even a real restriction?

Its kind of a dumb restriction, but i dont really care about it that much. I wont play a demo more than 3 or 4 times, before i can make up my mind if i want to buy the full version.

The restriction exists for a reason, and I suppose you can find that reason here:

For the most part I agree with you.  Only, there are certain cases where I will play a demo so many times that I never buy the game.  Dave mirra Bmx for xbox is one example.  The game demo had a big park to do insane bike tricks all day.  I'm sure the game was worth the money but I was happy just playing that one park for weeks until I didn't want the game anymore.  A more recent example for me is Just Cause 2 on xbox 360.  The level in the demo felt like it was the entire game or atleast contained the heart and soul of it.  I played it so much that I didn't buy the game, even though I wanted it, up until this last steam summer sale for $2.99!  Really it just depends on the game.. but judging by my experience it.. It's a sensible restriction.

Very informative!

I doubt the limit effects anyone because if you cant make your mind up in 20 times of playing the game then something is wrong, i think people just love to start silly stuff like this to get attention and try to make a mountain out of a molehill. (I seen this on Kotaku so this is not directed at the Thread starter here just to be clear)

Just rent the game, you drama queens. Be pleased that this is still an option. Do not challenge Xan.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

If a person doesn't know they want it after 20 try's, I think the problem is with that person

limit by the number..... so you will delete it after cause of the minimal storage that nintendo like to put us
