We got a genius here. He realizes buying hardware at launch can be pricey.

Oh well, atleast the X1 isn't $599 US dollars.

At least at $599 in 2006 it came with a Blu Ray player and rechargable controller that had slight motion capabilities with six axis.

Good morning, pug, pug.

Bluray? You mean that device that will never achieve the success of DVD and is often ignored for digital media? The market share Sony lost and billions of dollars lost shows how much people cared about Bluray in 2006.

Like I said before, a wireless PS3 controller becomes wired once that battery dies. To the contrary, AA batteries can be replaced to continue wire free gaming. I personally have a fancy device that recharges AA batteries.

Are you really boasting about six axis capabilities? Like anybody gives a crap about that. Stop joking around.

Edit: Furthermore! I think you're forgetting the X1 has Bluray, Kinect, and is still cheaper than $599. Ouch, that must sting you a little.

I liked six-axis ;-; flower was the shit *cries quietly to himself*

It's also 100$ more than it's more powerful counterpart :p For a peripheral the majority of gamers aren’t going to care about. Yes the new Kinect is cool, but if you asked people "do you want the Kinect, or 150$ off your bill" I'd make the bet the majority of people would take their 150$ and buy some games.

Yikes, this dick measuring contest that people come in here to partake in is really making this forum a pain to read. Both PS3 and 360 approaches to the controller had their benefits and drawbacks. I liked never having to worry about a battery on my PS3 controller. But I hate having to plug it in to recharge it, and twice I have had to take the controller apart to reset the battery for the console to register it. On 360 I liked never having to worry about plugging it in, but sometimes it's a hassle to swap out the batteries. I don't see how next gen will be any different. Idk about you guys but I have 4 cable boxes, 4 Wii motes, and 3 television remotes that all require AA batteries. So I have 3 AA battery chargers and an army of rechargable AA batteries at my disposal whenever I want them.

But who really gives a shit? It's the whole disc-swapping stuff that Sony zealots made a big deal about all over again.

Being someone who has the ability to lose a bolder in a washing basket, i'm glad they are sticking with batteries. I can't even count the number of hours I've spent looking for a cable to charge my PS3 controller every time i lose it (fucker has legs).

Ms keeps on milking its customers, but why not if they like it so much? Seriously, this is so Wii 2006 to me...

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Lol your fan.....errr support for MS knows no bounds and your anti Sony tirades keep accumulating. FYI when you are going to post something at LEAST use facts. Neo Geo was more expensive at launch than the PS3 AND that is not adjusting for inflation ($650 in 90's not including that each cartridge cost upwards to $100). Please try to keep the discussion clean for once in your life.

OT: Perhaps the battery life on the controller will be good I hope. Considering I have a Logitech wireless mouse that is awesome and uses 1 AA battery and I change it like maybe once a year, I would assume MS has managed to match that technology or perhaps given it enough power saving to last around the 6 month mark. If not, at least I am sure there are third parties with alternatives.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

That's a YOU problem lol. I keep my cables by the PS3, or near my TV, I can always charge the controllers on my TV when the PS3 is not in use.

You say it's "Wii 2006".  I say it's "Xbox 2005".  Maybe we're both right.

Wow the trolls are having a field day. Seriously guys, it is just batteries, and we all knew it was coming with a set anyways. This has never been a problem with 360 controllers, and, as someone else mentioned, it can actually be a nice thing in the event the controller battery goes. I have had 4 PS3 controllers since launch. Three have worked fine, but one had an issue with charging ... thankfully it was still within 30 days to return.

I figured most people in 2013 have rechargeable AA's since most TV remotes still use them ... if not you can buy an offbrand charge kit for the controller for like 10-15 dollars ... oh the humanity.

Also, has anyone confirmed whether or not 360 rechargeable packs can fit into Xbox One contollers?

Given how different are both controllers on the back, and that the Xbox One controller has the batteries inside and not in a bulge I'd say that no, they aren't.

Cant understand how any one think microsoft using AA batteries is acceptable at all, your paying $499 dollars..... ask for something updated, its your money don't let them take you for a ride
