Being someone who has the ability to lose a bolder in a washing basket, i'm glad they are sticking with batteries. I can't even count the number of hours I've spent looking for a cable to charge my PS3 controller every time i lose it (fucker has legs).

Cost for new set of batteries... $3-$5. Recurring charge for life of system.

Cost for new usb cord... $3. May need to replace... once or twice if ever?

Plus, you're a minority in this. I'm willing to bet a very low % (like 1-3%) of people ever lose these cords.

Oh I know it works out more expensive, I’m saying it purely based on my own ability to lose stuff constantly. From a general point of view a rechargeable controller makes much more sense, but as you say, I’m in a minority :P

c'mon man! get your act together!

I still don't get it. They managed to infiltrate even this innocent news. No ... we ain't buying, but we really have to cream on this cuz of you , the uninformed one. Yeah, I'm a fan of external batteries, you know.... I can probably change them. But still, if this army is so vocal and knows what's best, and you care about me... please send me a free PS4. I will gladly accept it and become a whoreshipper.

Ex Graphics Whore.

To me the most annoying thing is MS not letting 3rd-party-controllers getting released for 360 and probably Xbone. Not that the controllers are bad but this really is something I don't understand. Especially not allowing standard PC-wheels for gaming, besides crappy ones and the expensive fanatecs.

We got a genius here. He realizes buying hardware at launch can be pricey.

Oh well, atleast the X1 isn't $599 US dollars.

At least at $599 in 2006 it came with a Blu Ray player and rechargable controller that had slight motion capabilities with six axis.

Good morning, pug, pug.

TTYL

Do you really always have to argue about Sony and MSFT every chance you get?  Don't you ever get tired of it?

Telling you directed that to stage and not puggsly ;)

OT: XB1 the only console that can play AAAA games, confirmed.

I know it's a terrible habit! I should really just put it next to my PS3 every time I’m done with it, but it still finds a way into the cutlery draw.

No, I am saying that its ridiculous that they can force the Kinect on us but cannot give people a battery pack in 2013? So Microsoft is the only brand going into the next gen without rechargable batteries and you're going to come up with some excuse for them? Come on Jay Wood...you're better than this. What people could've paid to buy another game, you're going to have to buy two battery packs. Im not saying agree with me but I am thinking about the majority of gamers here, not the minority.

Do not "come on" me.  If you guys want to argue about AA batteries like it is the end of the world then do so.  "You" do this constantly with an agenda.  I don't understand why which is why i singled you out.

Im better than what?  I was the first comment in this thread and my opinion is simple.  I'm really excited about the controller. Would have been cool to have a charge kit but Im not going to die because it doesnt have one either like some of you all are acting.  The controller overall looks amazing.

Yes you are in the majority who came in to nitpick correct over something you aren't buying?  To start argueing over the biggest crysis of 2013 that is AA batteries?

With all that said, I deeply apologize for MSFT causing a horrible inconvenience in all of your lives.  Now continue your alls argueing and don't bring me back in here.

No matter what the issue fans of either console will make it bait in the fanboy wars. The fact MS fans are going to defend this is pretty bad because (even though it's not a big deal) it's clear that built in batteries are much better. The fact that Sony fans are doing to use this as an example of an MS cash grab just makes them look all the more petty. I'll admit, I'm a PS3 fan but I've never been involved in fanboy bickering because the financial success of the consoles don't directly benefit me. What exactly is being accomplished by bashing or defending the use of AA batteries in a game controller?

When Microsoft sees that Sony gives their fans a headset instead of making them buy it as yet another tacked on purchase, they decide to give them a very nice looking headset for free. A much better headset than Sony, I might add. Without the influence of Sony do you know how many tacked on purchases MS would've forced upon their gamers?

To be honest, I'm probably as big a Sony fan as you are. But you give them far too much credit.
