Forums - Gaming - You're a fan of Pokemon and despise Call of Duty? You're a hypocrite. Congratulations!

Not liking crappy, generic "real war" shooters, vs. liking unique, creative monster battle games? Right.

I'm not a Pokemon fan, never got into it. But sorry, this thread topic makes zero actual sense.

Yellow wasn't released at the same time, it was the same game being release much later.  It's the same thing with every gen, Platinum, Emerald, etc.  So he might mean that.

it's in the "3rd game " category. and again no one really needs to buy the 3rd iteration of the gen.

Why couldn't I argue that no one really needs a CoD game?  Just because no one needs it doesn't mean it doesn't get released.

It's not the same argument.  The 3rd game in pokemon games are not needed to complete the pokemon series.  Each CoD iteration releases as a new game.  The 3rd Pokemon game within a generation does not advertise itself as such.  It is the same game that expands the trading/battling experience that people love about pokemon.

in pokemon it's made clear that it's a new version of the same game. in call of retrocess it is advertised as a new game when in fact it's the same game on different maps.

Aaaah, people are already pretending they didn't understand my point. It's not a matter of "pokemon doesn't release every year" or "Ruby/Sapphire is different from X/Y"

Red and Blue are the same game. Gold and Silver are the same game. Ruby and Sapphire are the same game, and so on. They release on the same game. People buy both of them and are perfectly fine with it. But to buy Modern Warfare today and Black Ops one year later is a terrible, terrible thing, as you're supporting copy-and-paste game development.

But it's Nintendo. They can do it with all of their franchises.. They're innovators after all.

Dear god you're ignorant. Everybody knows there are always two versions of one Pokemon game that release on the SAME day and they choose to buy them both if they like to collect. Besides I never heard someone buying both versions EVER. You're pretending everyone who loves Pokemon do buy both versions = 'proving' your point with false information. Are you religious?

Also, COD is released every year and Pokemon once per 3 to 5 years. You don't simply make a 90 hour single player. Every game has 150 new Pokemon with new worlds, Gym's, better graphics and I think that's enough. A boring 3-hour singleplayer doesn't justify 60 dollars a year.

whats that supposed to mean?

Because Religion is 100% trying to prove a point based on "false information".... That made perfect sense to anyone with common sense and a brain (or isn't stuck in the deluded midwest of the United States) lol =P

Makes no sense huh? Both series have no similarities whatsoever.

What's the number one complain about Call of Duty? "Oh, Activision releases the same game every year and a lot of people buy it! That's outrageous!". The CoD games are not the same, they're actually different, whether you like it or not.

It's been about 17 years since Nintendo has convinced the whole world to buy the same game twice. It's not a case of "those games are pretty similar, they almost look the same!". The paired versions are EXACTLY the same game. Hey, GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL right? And then, people still go and buy that same game a third time. (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald etc.). But ok, we can call those "different games".

I'm not a Call of Duty fan or a Pokemon hater. In fact, I prefer Pokemon over CoD. It's just something that I thought of today. And I'm right. I'm always right. If you knew me, you'd know that.

Nintendo never said to buy the same game twice. In fact they release two difference versions to encourage trading to help fill the pokedex, you know to get some human interaction via the world of Pokemon.
