Japanese gamers love Pokémon, this is not a mystery, but how fast can a Pokémon 3DS bundle sell out at a big retailer like Amazon Japan? Very, very fast.
Yesterday the embargo for preorders of Pokémon X and Y was lifted, and Japanese gamers almost literally rushed the barricades, as communicated by Amazon itself via Twitter.

What the tweet says is pretty simple: the retailer had an allowance of about 100,000 units (it’s not specified if the number refers only to the bundles or to the whole stock). The embargo on preorders was lifted at 10 in the morning. One hour later (11 AM), the Pokemon Center (PokeSen) bundle with a limited edition golden 3DS was sold out. At 19:00 (7 PM) the standard 3DS bundle was sold out as well. At the moment they only have the game by itself in stock.
That’s what you call “flying off the shelves” even if in this case the shelves are entirely virtual.

i dont think 100k 3ds's sold out maybe like 10k of it was 3DS Bundle?

while your statement is correct, difference here is the generation should be alot bigger (terms of sales) than previous Generations. Another thing to factor is no Mainstream Pokemon game every had Bundle before (never needed it), and now it does

I'm not so sure bundles will be that big of a factor in the sales, it always has been and always will be about the game when it comes to Pokemon, I personally think it would have sold the same even without the bundles.

it will factor in, just not as much ex: no bundles it be 2.00mil but with bundles i can see 2.10mil (100k difference), also to note that within the sales it helps out nintendo due to major hardware boost, and now people that wait to buya 3ds for pokemon get limited editions as well! NintenDomination ...... >_<
