I prefer the posts that make sense.
I personally don't like to see a user pulling the wool over the eyes of the other users. In my opinion, this is a disrespectful behaviour. In the end, what is a forum meant for? To fool people or to elucidate them? To hide the truth or to expand people's knowledge? To see who uses the biggest number of fallacies or to share facts and opinions so that we can learn from each other?
While you see Mummelmann's post as a failure, I see it as an epic post that serves as guide to any newcomer to the site that doesn't know John Lucas. That post is everything one needs to know (or at least the basics) about that guy. Like when there is a virus and someone lists all the cares (like wash your hands, don't share personal objects, etc.) needed to mitigate the virus proliferation.
Of course you don't see John's fallacies as a virus, you even like them as you say. But that's because we have different views about what a forum is (or should be).
