Off topic, but does anyone know which Ace Attorney games I should get to prep for Dual Destinies?

Oh, and
"That figure is very well similar to how Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney sold back in 2007. In its first week, Apollo Justice sold 250,186 copies. Considering that there’s been a gap of six years between the two games, Dual Destinies’ sales are rather impressive and indicate that any fans that were lost in the interim have been made up for by new fans."

How come AJ sold that well? I always thought it was a spin off, but I guess not. Haven't played that one yet though.

Unfortunately we'll never know where the game is going to rank with the rest considering the game is digital only in the west, unless Capcom releases the numbers at some point.

From what I understand, you have to play them all to completely understand the characters and some of the stories. You can skip the Investigations games, but that's about it.

Alright, I figured as much.  Are they all available on DS, and which order do they come in?   I'll assume that the release dates on the chart tbone51 posted tells the story, but I want to make sure.

It goes like this:

  1. Phoenix Wright
  2. Justice for All
  3. Trials and Tribulations
  4. Apollo Justice
  5. Dual Destinies
And yes, all of them are available for the DS

Apollo Justice is the official fourth game in the series. It plays several years after the Phoenix Wright trilogy. Phoenix and some other old characters make appearances though.

After a quick google search I figured that out. It's been a long time since I played Ace Attorney (only played the first one and Justice for All). And since I never bothered to search I always thought it was a spin off (like the Investigations games)

Currently playing T&T and AJ next in preparation for Dual Destinies.

Apollo Justice is the best. Not only in terms of story, but also because Trucy is a much better sidekick than Maya.

Hey hey hey, let's be reasonable here. No one can beat Maya. They just can't.

And TBone? It is coming to the West. Digital only, yes. But it's coming.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
