Forums - Gaming - The top 10 bestselling PS3 games really shows how FPS is the strongest genre on the platform. Six of the top 10 titles are an FPS. However...

I'm not telling people what to do with their money but its only natural for any man with little decency to care about where these money go. Where these money go detirmine the fate of millions around the globe. A $60-$120 game update is only a fraction of what's being spent unnecessarily on optional/fancy entertainment but that fraction still matters more than you think. What's "disgusting" about participating through mere expression to change the route a little and attempt to bring people back to their senses and check their priorities?!

The  economic problems with poor countries go far deeper than controlling birth rates. or do you want them to stop giving birth completely and become extinct?

If staying in a shed doesn't negatively affect science and my participation to brining a better future. I "should" have done it. But even then I doubt I would've, I'm still a shallow man to an extent as are the majority of first world people. But at least I don't take pride of it. I don't take these blessings for granted, and I always "try"

Instead of arguing with any ridiculous point you made. I'm just gonna say its ridiculous to try and make people feel guilty about buying annual games as you attempted to do.

As if people giving money to charity versus buying a game annually is going to solve the problem.

You appear to be clueless about how economy works.

If people spend these money to help feeding starving nations in Africa rather than updating a bloody video game yearly, they could save the lives of thousands. And then ironically, its MY approach that is disgusting. Not surprising given you're a typical first world gamer who is either ignorant or doesnt give a damn about what's going on a few miles away.

Cheers.

What are you doing to help the starving nations?

I'm taking care of a Brazilian boy through Save the Children orginization. I pay him $50 monthly (they wouldn't accept more).. enough to make him get education and live with comfort there. Also I have a religious obligation to pay 20% of my yearly income to poor people if I'm settled down. but I just can't do that now because my income is pretty low, I don't own a house, hell I don't even have a car and life is being tough on me currently.

However I'm aware that I need to harden the fuck up as it is all relative and some people out there are having it much worse than I am.

I hope that was detailed enough.

OP: I'm not replying more posts as it may get me banned since it isn't related enough to the thread.

I do the same thing for World Vision Australia but let's be honest, we spend a lot more than $50 per month on unnecessary stuff. We probably spend that much when we go out.

As more Years go by, it gets more stupid to do the whole "so many games in the Top 10 are FPS!" argument.

When the biggest game on the planet releases Yearly, then that said series will dominate sales lists. 5 out of those 6 games on PS3 are Call of Duty games. 5 out of the 8 on 360 are Call of Duty games.

Instead of simply doing the Top 10, it should be the Top 10 franchises.

Eh, if anything, annual releases should squeeze a franchise out of the top ten as enthusiasts are spread across multiple teleases and fatigue sets in. Like how Guitar Hero/Rock Band got milked out of existence. The fact that shooter franchises generate megahits year after year reinforces their dominance, not the opposite.

Well yeah, youre right. It should. There are games that break this rule though, due to sheer popularity. Call of Duty is one of these games.

Also, who thinks GTA V will beat GTA IV?

I don't think it will. Its releasing right at the end of the 7th generation so that will affect sales.

I though GTA V would disrupt the move to next gen to be honest

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

I am Brazilian and that's a nice gesture of yours. But I can honestly say Brazil has had lots of social poverty programs (to which many reactionary, conservative people are nastly against) to take care of less fortunate regions (like the North) and it is also currently the 7th economy in the world - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Brazil.

I believe there are places that are far more in need of help.

If Halo were multiplat, I posit that it would have done well on the PS3 as well.

I think FPS games are just a phase, like racing games of the 6th gen

LOL...FPS will never die down. It speaks to the heart of the western gamer. They've only grown in popularity since the late 90's.

GT is GT. Racing games were at their at their best in abundance in the 90's and the early 2000's was was the point where it started dropping off the face of the earth. Westerners love guns and competition.
