As NinjaBlade360 said, Nyko has some good stuff.

Do you have an original 3DS or XL?

Original!

I highly recommend you trade it in for an XL...the battery lasts quite a while on full brightness. But if that's impossible, be cautious in using third party batteries.

Ah yeah, the XL does have better battery life. Other than that, I prefer the original though. Do the two models use the same type of battery by any chance?

Pretty sure the XL has a bigger battery, so accomodate the bigger screens and such.

Of course, I don't really see how you can complain when you have it on the maximum brightness. On my XL, I have brightness on level 2, sometimes I have power saving mode on, and it lasts many hours.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

i got the backs for the wii motes 3 years ago and they still work i geuss its the luck of the draw

you could also try this - http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Nintendo-External-Power-Supply-Charging/dp/B004REJZLA/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1375585341&sr=1-3&keywords=3ds+battery+pack

I also got Nyko component cables for the Wii. They died aswell, though those lasted longer.

Hrms, I was more hoping for a bettery pack that's simply better than the 3DS's default one which I could use instead. I'm guessing Nintendo hasn't made an official one?

inope they only sell the standard one.

Dang it Nintendo!!! D: I guess it makes sense for them not to make a better battery pack, as it's an incentive for upgrading to an XL.

Get the Nyko battery pack, it's great.

Like I said, I like things at their best, and don't like having to gimp my system so it can last a decent amount of time.

Never! I've had bad experiences with their stuff in the past.

What I would suggest is getting a portable battery, and using it with a USB charger. Like this:

USB charging cable for 3DS

Here's a small pocket size battery charger, capacity is 2600 mAh

Or, here are some bigger and higher capacity batteries with multiple USB ports

This one has 8400 mAh

This has 12000 mAh

If that's just not enough for you, this guy has a whopping 15000 mAh

The regular 3DS has a battery capacity of 1300 mAh. With a battery charger of 8000 mAh or more, you would be able to fully charge your 3DS several times.

I think it's your best bet. You get many hours of extra playtime, but the only downside is you might have to play your 3DS while it is charging on a somewhat clunky external battery. It might not bother you, and you could put the charger in your pocket or backpack or something while charging and playing.

Of course, the bigger capacity battery you get, the more money you will have to spend. Just depends on how much extra battery you want, and how much you are willing to pay.
