Forums - Sony - Everquest Next looks like the next best MMO

Looks great, can't wait to try it. Too bad I don't have the time anymore to play it like I used to play EQ. Whole weekends gone running around Norrath until deep into the night or through to the next day.

I'm not so sure about the different gameplay style, less specialized roles, everybody can do everything style. A well trained group with specialized roles was unstoppable, and it was easy to exchange members since you know what each class can bring to a group. I rather have they make it easier to meet up and group instead of let everyone play it as a single player game.

To soon to hype but we'll see. It looks like even some high spec pc might struggle with this.

The reason why I stopped playing MMO was because there was only one way to progress after you had leveled to max, and that was only with loot. Raiding was fun and but you had to depend on other people. If you got really good at you role and became your guild's number one tank or healer, had to forget what you wanted to do on your free time... you had to raid. You had already gotten all your armor sets and felt responsible to help the rest of the raiding party get theirs.

Another thing, what if i wanted to play as survival hunter in WOW (this is old wow, really old) but that wasn't the optimized spec for raiding. This meant that I could not raid. I had sacrifice the way I wanted to play in order to be allow to play with others. This bothered me alot, and ultimately paved the way for my departure of MMO raiding.

This is what I want. If this game is not then its my fault for allowing myself to get too hyped. And like many say and will say some more, many times MMO have let us down and over promise, but I want change and because I want it so bad I feel I need to keeping on banging the drums.

I want to pick up sword and train, then a bow and train with it, get good at it for hunting, then sell the meet. I want to go up a mountain I like and pick a good spot. Chop some wood and make a house of my own design and ability. Invite some people to come join me, then let them bring more people. Stablish a goverment and then produce good for trade. Fight the orcs or wolves that want our gold, and survive as long as possible.

NO story will ever match the impact that my own story will leave in me. No story line that some devs come out with will match me stablishing a goverment, putting together an army and going to war against an alliance of orcs and giants. Winning that war and driving orcs out forever, then the city makes an statue of me. :)

My wife and I stopped playing EQ because we didn't have time to raid and it became to slow to progress beyond lvl 68 without the right gear. With wow we got bored after reaching max level, starting a new character was more fun then raiding, we never liked that. A group of 6 works, waiting around for 20 to 40 people ugh. The battlegrounds were fun occasionally, but nothing beats exploring.

I like to explore the world, see all it has to offer, and that way write my own story discovering the world. Building a place is probably not something I would get into much. I'm hoping for more of a Terraria approach then Minecraft.

I am VERY VERY VERY Excited for this game!

I will need to experience the class system to give an opinion on it, as im a bit skeptical about it myself, but all in all the game looks phenomenal.

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

Is this on PC only or there will e a console version?

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

PC only for now, but it's possible for a PS4 announcement.

Minecraft killer.

Ohhhh Turkish.

You beat me to it.

Agree. If it delivers what it promises, or a good part of it, it will be an excellent game, and possibly also a WoW killer for some players, but it doesn't look like a Minecraft killer and just being able to dig holes doesn't make the two games similar. Heck, I have been able to dig holes for more than ten years in Magic Carpet, Lemmings, Scorched Earth and I guess it was possible in many other games I didn't play, but I wouldn't call them "Minecraft killers".

There's a lot more to it than that lol.  You can also build, destroy, and it's not just digging a hole, its blast away the earth under you anywhere you go.  ( Except Starting cities of course, they would be torn to shreds lol.

Why does everything have to be a something killer?
