Forums - Politics Discussion - Is being Gay an evolution of humans?

The population crisis is a fairly recent event. In 1940 there were roughly about 2 billion people on the planet. Now there are nearly 7 billion.

Gays have been around since the beginning, I imagine. And in large numbers too, considering how many of them were hounded and persecuted.

So no, we haven't evolved in tandem with China's One Child policy, that's ridiculous.

It's just an opinion but homosexuality is offensive to all human senses. It's blatantly unnatural (and no, just because it occurs doesn't make it natural).

It's not an evolution because it has occured for as long as we have been on the planet. It is a societal evolution though; one which proceeds pari passu with progressive liberalism and atheism.

So you are judging these people who were born this way? Basically you would be the government in the first Xmen. Afraid of things you do not understand?

Can a gay person control how he or she feels anymore than a person born with no arms can control that? That is how they were made. Whether you believe in God or just Evolution, we were all made special, as an individual....for a purpose? Who are we humans to decide what is truly right or wrong? Besides basic laws of course.

No they can't control their feelings or who they fall in love with. They can control who they have sex with. Sin doesn't occur until there is action. There shouldn't be any public display of affection nor should they be allowed to marry.

Acceptance of homosexuality is purely political; it has nothing to do with an innate sense of spiritual brotherhood and unity. The rejection of the same is natural and not necessary religiously motivated.

You are blatantly unnatural. Learn to hate a little less dude, or your gonna end up a sad, lonely person.

Except yes, because it just occurs it makes it natural, nothing unnatural about it.

Of course everyone can have its own opinion about this. But just to let you know, humans aren't the only animals that commit this "unnatural" thing you're saying.

Because cannibalism occurs its natural. Because pedophilia exists it makes it natural. I think you need to rethink what you wrote. Natural means meaningful or purposeful by design. The cosmos is not without error and deviation.

No, it isn't.

WTF. It's great that being gay is longer seen as wrong or weird, but I almost feel like I had to apologize for being straight.

I have heard that argument so many times. I've also heard that we should abandon monagomy because no animal on this planet is monogamous. It doesn't work that way. Human beings are far too complex to be relegated to mere animals. And just because homosexuality can occur in other species doesn't make it desirable socially what so ever.

Evolutionary changes aren't made by some guy picking which ones to push like this was a simulation game. (probably anyway)

Also... for evolutions to spread.... they need to breed.  Genetically.

Additionally, while people are born gay, it isn't a genetic thing as far as we know.  It's based on something else.
