Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Basic Disappearing From Online Stores

Apparently, the Wii U is being delisted at a bunch of online stores. Gamestop, Walmart, Best Buy, etc.. I checked some of these myself, and it seems to be true. Which means we're probably witnissing the end of the Basic Bundle as we know it.

...well, is this a good thing, or a bad thing?

If they finally decide to drop the price of the Deluxe bundle by $50 it could be a good thing. Probably not, though.

seems odd to remove the cheaper model but i guess they could drop the Delux price and introduce another bundle maybe?

Makes sense as it wasn't selling anyway. The deluxe is just a much better deal.

I read that the cheaper model only accounts for about 20% of total Wii U sales

Fantastic! Now all they need is to drop the premium one too, and then introduce a new one with 500GB and a lower price. At least the basic pack really needs to go away.

No one was buying the basic pack

If they drop those Deluxe prices then it's a good idea.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

really? :O

Good thing. 8 gig is too small. It barely has enough room for system updates, let alone downloads or game patches. This probably explains the awesome $199 price at Walmart Canada.
