Never mind used games - Let's plays is the biggest threat. The more triple A games are turning into movies the more people are not bothering to buy and play them and instead watch them on Youtube. PS2 is king.

Didn't Minecraft get huge precisely because of the Let's Play community?

Here's my take:Games for their story can be viewed with youtube and are hurt. Games that actually make you want to play them if you watch a Let's Play do better.

i don't think let's plays pose much of a threat. There is a huge disparity between playing a game and watching a game on youtube.

Many people who can't afford buying the game experience it with a let's play.
Many people who can, save money with the let's play.

Personally, I think that watching them is a huge waste of time. What's the point of WATCHING a videogame? You play it.

I( don't think so. The Lets play videos are actually free promotion and advertising for the games.

They work as trailers in my opinion. If I like what I'm seeing I buy the game. Sometimes I watch an LP and not buy the game, but that's only when I'm just not interested in buying the game in the first place.
