Yes and no.
Many people who can't afford buying the game experience it with a let's play.
Many people who can, save money with the let's play.
Personally, I think that watching them is a huge waste of time. What's the point of WATCHING a videogame? You play it.
Also, regardless of anything discussed here, PS2 is king indeed
