Beats me, its a brilliant device. The operating system is superb and fast, it feels wonderful and looks amazing. I love mine.

Actually I dont think people hate it, they just didnt like the price, however that argument is old.

You can get a new vita, 10 game bundle, with an 8g memory card for £169.99 from Amazon uk here

Your TL;DR was still too long; didn't read.

The WiiU's issue is its software library - people are just not interested in what is currently being dished out. Third party support can easily be trounced due to the fact its competitors have been out in the market and the userbases on those systems usually go for games on those particular systems along with the fact there have been more discounts/sales on the competitor systems along with the fact some of the ports on the WiiU brag about the fact that you can use the gamepad but the consumers dont have any interest in the gamepad itself.

They are more interested in getting the actual games but its kind hard when you have multiplat titles that sell better on competitor systems along with the fact that some of the ports are gimped like Mass Effect 3 being sold for $59.99 along the same time as Mass Effect Trilogy which again was the same price.
Which would you buy? Mass Effect 3 on WiiU for $59.99 or the entire Trilogy on PC/Xbox360/PS3 for the same price?

The interest isnt there, yes the first party titles from Nintendo will help but the fact that there hasnt been any notable releases as of yet except for say Pikmin 3 (in Japan) - the sales wont be as much as say the 3DS or the PS3 which keeps on getting content which are usually exclusive or third party multiplats (which again is due to the fact of its userbase).

As for the Vita, a lot of the games are enhanced ports/remakes which imo arent as bad as gimped ports that the WiiU is getting but the demand isnt there because people want exclusives and AAA titlesAlong with the fact when you sell your biggest memory card for $99.99 - it turns off a lot of people (including me which is the main reason why I dont have one yet) - they'll be like why should I buy a game system that will have its biggest memory card for half of the price of its competitor. Yes you can get smaller memory cards and deal with that, but people look at the smallest things - it is what makes us consumers.

Edit: Also doesnt help that one region already has a price cut - some people do research and when they find out in their region the games sell for higher prices - they'll just wait for a price drop and/or sale.

---

Note I am getting both systems eventually in the future as there are games on both systems that have come out and will be coming out that I am interested in.

I dont care about only AAA titles - I play anything and everything from AAA titles, niche titles, and indie titles.

Everything you have listed is a negative point. How does that demonstrate why they should be selling better? Surely you have just explained why they deserve to sell badly?

The second half is the Vita.

They are still negative points. Not enough exclusives and AAA titles, expensive memory and no price cut are his points for Vita. Poor software library, uninteresting gamepad and expensive ports are his points for the Wii U. This was his reply to "what makes you think it should be selling better?". Surely they are selling as they should be, given the points he just made.

The poll question is what gaming journalists should ask Sony.

Sony's answer would probably be something close to, "Vita? What's that?"

As someone said, I don't really hate the Vita, but those fanboys (the fanboys, not the all the fans) are really hard to love, and that negative feedback transfers over to the Vita.

That's a bit unfair don't you think? As much as I hate the Miami Heat and its bandwagoning fans, I don't hate the players one bit. Don't let a few bad apples ruin the fun.

Yeah, I know how you feel.  I'd get a Nintendo device but I really don't look good in tin-foil.

To be fair, the only reason PS plus is so generous for Vita, and with all the discounts...is directly because the system ain't selling. It wouldn't be in place today if sales picked up since launch.

But personally, its because for all its pros, it isn't catering to portable gamers, and most notably, it isn't Nintendo.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Everyone hates on everything. It's just easier to when a system is struggling because people have more ammunition.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
