I think the PS4 is going to be Sony's return to the PS1 and PS2 days. I think they're set to dominate the industry again. Maybe not quite at PS2's level, but definitely PS1's.

Wii U is Gamecube all over again. Good games, no sales.

Xbox One doesn't even HAVE an audience so I don't know who's going to buy it. Maybe dude bros? I don't know, but I don't see them challenging at all.

Gamecube had higher sales it the same point in it's life:). XB1 does have an audience. Please keep fanboyism to a minimum:)

Probably the Wii U. The PS4 and Xbox One will struggle post launch, just like every other 8th generation console has.

No...they wont struggle like Nintendo has. Nintendo had content and marketing issues post launch. If it wasnt the Wii they didnt care.

Please don't take this as wii u bashing (I own one and love it) but Sony and Microsoft will sell very well through out their first year. The xbox one will not have as big of a price factor as everyone thinks and I predict that it may not match ps4 numbers but will still do very well for Microsoft. The biggest difference with these consoles is 2 parts, message and games. "Fanboy" banter aside Sony and microsofts products both have a very clear message. Each product stands out clearly from its predecessor and there is less confusion although much more marketing is needed to reach more consumers. And there is just many more games that are being talked bout than the Wii u had around its launch (we're waiting for more talk from Sony at gamescon). 3rd part support is better not only are you getting ports of current gen games but a lot of new multiplayer are being talked about. I think these launches will do better than nintendos.

How exactly do they stand apart from there predeccessors? One has Kinect 2.0 but the original Kinect has lost Iits steam and I dont see many people rushing to get 2.0 for $500. Same goes for the TV features, they are cool but alot of current devices do similar thibgs for much cheaper.

PS4 doesnt really have anything that makes it much diffetent than PS3 except for better visuals. Also both of these consoles will share most of there games with there predeccessors. PS360 will likely have price cuts this year or next so they will be roughly half the price of PS4/One.

You are taking a hardcore gaming stance. It i looked at every console generation objectably then I could have your very same argument. What stood out about the SNES over the NES. Nothing but graphics. It had the same nintendo strategy all the way down to execution but sold better. The reason was simply in the messaging. If I am a casual wii owner that don't follow these gaming sites it is very easy for me to confuse the wii and the wii u. He'll, in my demographic 30 plus many of my associates and colleagues didn't even know until very recent that Nintendo had a new product and even then it wasn't creating the same buzz. The problem don't just lie with differentiating it from the original wii but also from every other touch device. Those casual gamers that in just my opinion can acount for half of all the consoles they sold will not be returning throughout this generation. Nintendo didn't become a leader because they were the best company last gen they did it because they created arp duct that transcended gaming and (not to diss the original wii) but became a fad. Fads create tremendous buzz, blow up quickly, are easily reconizeable, and go away just as fast. They revolutionized motion gaming, but touch thanks to apple and Samsung and a few others is just not that mind blowing. I believe that the wii u will sell decently but they won't see the numbers of last gen again and mark my words. They will announce a new handheld in 2 years and a new console around 3 years from now.

I asked how PS4/One stand out compared to PS360 and u gave a long speech about how Wii wont regain the casual market. I agree with what ur saying but it in no way has anything to do with what were talking about.

You ignored my reply to your point. Retread my reply but in short a generation traditionally mainly evolves first in the graphics that the system has to offer or power of what ever term you want to use to lable it. You are starting to sound like a fan boy and that kind of back and forth I don't really want to do. "Fanboys" in my eyes are people that are either to cheap, to poor, or parents want let them get but one system. I am a grown ass man that love video games and will have all 3 systems as soon as these past two release. I am not picking sides and will enjoy games on all my consoles. You can keep robbing yourself of the great game titles on the other systems and keep going on with you fan boy agenda.

Im going to be labeled a Nintendo hater (even though I have a 3ds) and a Sony fanboy, but Im just going to state facts. For 50$ more, you can get a Ps4 which is going to have amazing AAA games AND tons of multiplatform third party games that WONT be coming to the Wii U. FIFTY DOLLERS! Nintendo has stated multiple times that they have not intended to drop the price because they believe that the Wii U is already a bargain. So I don't know what makes all of you say that they will drop the price. But until then if they ever do, it is still always only going to be 50$ more. Now, you guys are going to jump all over me saying "But the Wii U has so many good games coming out this year and next!" OK so lets compare the games coming out on Ps4 that WILL NOT BE COMING TO WII U, and games on Wii U that will not be coming out on Ps4. THIS IS BETWEEN PS4 AND WII U ONLY. I SAY AGAIN WII U AND PS4 ONLY!!!

Wii U:
Pikmin 3, TW101, Zelda Wind Waker HD, Sonic Lost world, Donkey Kong, Super Mario 3d Land, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros Wii U, Project X, New Legend of Zelda, Bayonetta 2, SMT x FE

Ps4:
The Order 1866, Killzone Shadow Fall, MGSV, Deep Down, Final Fantasy 14, Final Fantasy 15, Kingdom Hearts 3, Destiny, DriveClub, Knack, Infamous Second Son, Madden, NBA Live, Daylight, The Evil Within, Battlefield 4, Dragon Age 3, The Crew, Diablo 3, The Division, Dying Light, Elder Scrolls Online, Mirrors Edge 2, PlanetSide 2, Transistor, Warframe, The Witcher 3, Mad Max, The Witness, Thief

These lists are just off the top of my head. I don't know about you guys, but for 50$ more you can play twice the amount of games on Ps4 than the Wii U. The Wii U has games, however 5 of those titles, Project X, SMT x FE, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, and TW101 are very Niche. These games are not going to sell the insane numbers you guys are putting expectations for. Its a fact. Project X maybe, but others not. So if you guys who believe the Wii U is the greatest thing since sliced bread, well then have fun playing only 5-10 games every year. You guys can also go on about how the casuals are going to eat up Wii Fit U, but if you guys really want people buying the console just to play 1 game and nothing else, then go ahead. However, gamers will all agree that the Ps4 library is much more appealing than the Wii U just in sheer number of games. SONY HAS STATED THAT THEY STILL HAVE MORE GAMES TO ANNOUNCE AT GAMESCOM AND TGS, SO THIS LIST IS ONLY GOING TO GROW BIGGER. Now don't get me wrong, I will be buying a Wii U and a Ps4, however this is just my 2 cents. Time for me to be eatin alive by the Nintendo Fanboys lol.

That "basic" set is harder to find because nintendo is getting rid of it.

"I support the industry that's why I rock with all of the Big 3!"

It's hard to say. If Wii U gets some nice games, it could have a good chance. Microsoft kind of got off to a bad start, so I'd guess Sony would beat Microsoft. But I don't know.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

U did not adress my point tho all I asked what in ur opinion stands out, I wasnt trying to argue whas just curious since I dont see any huge differences for the first 1-2 years since most games will be cross-gen.

And please do not label me a fanboy, I will admit that Nintendo is my favorite but I also love the hell out of Playstation and have expressed that many times on this site. I have also defended Xbox many times on this site even tho im not the biggest fan of them. PS3 and 3DS are the only consoles I own, I plan on getting Wii U this holiday and a PS4 probably in 2015 when it has a price cut and more big exclusives.

U came off extremely ignorant in that last post when all I was doing was trying to have a simple discussion.

I apologize for the miscommunication. The biggest factor this gen dispute what people are saying will be the price of the consoles. All three are going to have to work really hard to drive that down throughout this gen if they want any kind of mass market penetration. I believe price was a huge factor for the original wii on top of the great way the marketed the motion tech. I think if at all possible you could get more than one system this gen, you should that way you don't miss out on any great games.

No problem, partially my fault as well.

To me there are 3 things that a system needs to get right in order to sell well, games, price and marketing. Wii U is selling badly becuase currently its failing at all three of those things, its had the longest drought in gaming history, is the most expensive console on the market and they aremt marketing becuase there are no games to market. Later this year and next they will have fixed all those problems I see them doing very well.

PS4/One will have marketing down but games+price will be an issue. I see them both having a great launch due to diehard fans but next year when the launch hype dies down I see them having a bit of a slump (not as bad as Wii U slump). 3/4 games released on those consoles will be on up to 6 consoles, PS4/One/PS3/360/WiiU/PC, so that means its exclusive games/features that will set them apart. As of now the exclusives we know from PS4/One arent known to be huge sellers and I dont see Kinect 2.0 being the craze that the original was.

When an average consumer is looking for a console next year and sees PS3/360/Wii U at $200-300 or PS4/One at $400-500, I think most will choose PS360U. If there into shooters/racing/sports/sandbox games then PS360 is the way to go since there half the price, have many of the same games and have more exclusives. If there big fans of Nintendo games or buyong for kids/family then Wii U is the way to go.

I think PS4 and One have a bright future and will both sell alot but wont truly take off until 2015 when they get a price cut, more solid exclusives and PS360 support slows down.

"Wii U is selling badly becuase currently its failing at all three of those things, its had the longest drought in gaming history."

Actually, the PS1 had the longest drought in history. Food for thought:p

WiiU is sitting at 3,6 million sold after being 8 months on market. PS1 sat on 3,6 mill sold after being on market for almost 2 years. This is the reason i'm not worried about the WiiU. Couse I lived through the PS1 drought after buying it on launch day dec 94. And we all know how badly the PS1 ended up selling.
