Longest I've gone without sleep is probably around 40 hours or so I think. I was pretty tired. I usually try to get my beauty sleep.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Three times.

End of Uni, had a solid week of exams and the last thing I had to do to finish my science degree was write up a short thesis This was the end of a six month project I had been working and involved a literature review, results analysis, discussion etc. Started working on it on Friday evening after work, finished Monday morning about 4am. Then I had a philosophy paper that I hadn't even looked at yet that I need to finish, managed to knock that off by about about 7am. Had some breakfast, went to Uni, handed in my papers, came home and slept like I had never slept before up to that point in my life.

Next time was when I was last in Ireland; managed to meet up with my cousins that I hadn't seen in 17 years the very last day that I was there so in fine Irish style we went for a 'few pints'. When 2am rolled around I decided it was probably time to make my way home given that my flight was at 7am. Alas, no taxis so faced nearly a 10km walk back to my Aunt and Uncle's house which was just in time to change clothes and head to the airport. Plane to London, still not even close to sober and then a 4 hour layover which were some of the most excruciating hours of my life (wanting nothing more in the world than to be able to sleep but not able to or I would miss my flight). Boarded a 13 hour non-stop flight to Tokyo and luckily got the seat right next to flight attendants area so any time I was at any risk of falling asleep someone would walk by and bump me. Arrived in Tokyo, three hour train ride to my brother's place, the flu now starting to take hold and didn't get out of bed until 5 days later.

Last time was when I was working a surgical resident. Started work at 6:30am and spent the entire day from 8am til 4pm in theatre holding people's livers out of the way. Got back to the ward, admitted several patients, finished duties for the 25-30 patients under my care, and finally headed home at about 7:30. Got home, was just starting to put some food together but got a call, back to the hospital. Was the on call surgical resident, major trauma so had to assist in theatre but just for fun the surgeon thought it would be a good idea for me to do my first op as the primary. Completed an ORIF of the tibia while a general surgeon worked on the poor guy's belly and finally got out of theatre at about 4:30am, home by 5:30am, shower and breakfast and back to work for my usual 6:30 start, repeat and recycle of the previous day, home at 8:30pm, having worked myself to the bone for close to 38 hours and not having slept at all.

you win. I can't imagine how stresful that would have been, Im only doing simulation clinic (dentistry) 3 hours monday evening and 3 hours tuesday morning and even that is strenuous for me. Don't know how you managed to work like that!

I used to have a group of friends come over once a week and we would play party games until late in the night on Wii U or sports games on XBox 360. Normally, I would have them over the night before my day off. But, one time I stayed up all night playing Raw vs. Smackdown 2007 on XBox with them and then went to work for my 7am-3:30 pm job in the morning. There was a Dunkin Donuts in the building that didn't open until 8am, so that first hour, I kept nodding off on my feet. I would snap to everytime someone passed me and said good morning. At 8am, the lighting came on to normal (they would set it to dim overnight), and the Dunkin Donuts opened and I got coffee, so I was fine after that.
Also, I used to get super tired on long drives during the early morning or late night hours. Then, I tried 5 Hour Energy and I never had that problem again.

To be honest stress didn't even come into the equation for me, I was simply too tired for it to be a factor.  10 years later and I still haven't worked as hard in any single day since as I used to work every day back then.  Definitely not good for you.

i once was so tired that i went to bed

sleeping 17 hours after surgery

Probably when I got an injection for my migraine and was prescribed 120mg propranolol and a couple other things. Makes me so tired I sleep about 12+ hours per day for 3 to 4 days and be able to do nothing but lay down the rest of the time because im so tired. Fortunately ive only had to take the propranolol one other time but it is worth it as it gets rid of/prevents the headaches

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.
