Hm. A game where you have a toy ship inside a water bottle. You tilt the water bottle to move the ship because the content inside the bottle has a scenery that the boat travels through. As you progress through the game, the boat and the bottle gets bigger. The game ends when you beat the last level, the gas inside the bottle is too much and blows up and the ship which has turned into a huge real life ship is now on the ocean sailing towards a horizon.

Gameplay is done already, but I don't think there's ever been a game about a boat in a bottle.

sounds like the kind of game microsoft would make.

No. I get more of a Sony vibe from my game.

I've invented my own genre actually. I have four completely different games designed using it and one is already well underway in Unity. Can't spoil anything sadly, except it's not an FPS, or a TPS, or an RTS, or an RPG, or a TBS, or a platformer, or a fighter, etc.

bioware RPG + 3rd person sims = ?

A game where Jesus comes down to earth to punish the mankind for their disrespect to god. Eventually Lucifer would join him, his reasons for the rampage would be just for the HELL of it. At the end, after they destroyed a good part of the earth, both might become too strong and dangerous, so that God and the Devil himself would join forces and try to destroy them. I don't know the ending yet, it could go either way.

The game would contain trashy teen-movie humor and Jesus would be a badass disrispectful dudebro (kinda like the new Dante) who likes to throw nasty one-liners.
In the game, which would be a kind of hack and slash, you would fight the human military forces first and angels and demons later. Lucifer would provide him some kind of backup with some devlish powers, as non-controllable side kick. I like the idea of Jesus starting small, just powerful enough to kill a bunch of guys and then learn abilities from the enemies he kills.

The title would of course be "Jesus Christ reVENGEANCE" and I would give it to Platinum Games.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

i thought we all agreed that sony just steals ideas and never makes any original ones?

It's a game where you control three robots, srpg style. You fight other teams of robots, sometimes four teams at once in a free for all.

Your robot levels up. You can buy better equipment as the game progresses and configure your robot as you see fit. Offense heavy? Advanced scanners? Decoys? Invisibility? Speedy? Long range? Defense heavy? Regenerating health? Support heavy? AI drones? It's all up to you!

Searching for rare parts and capabilities (like making an enemy target their allies, etc) are the heart of the game. Even though the hardware is a distinct advantage, a knowledgeable player would still win over an overpowered player if they have the right strategy and the right balance on their team.

For instance, here is one of the ideas I had thought of recently called "Sight".

aka please read my terrible fanfiction, the thread.

That's not an original game, that's an original story you'd lay on generic action gameplay to and pretend it's radical.

Yes but it's more plot than gameplay, survival game with a weird twist later...however it might actually work better as a comic, might give more time to delve into inner turmoil of the character.

Hmm, pie.

I'm waiting for the Xbox One or Project Sparks to release to see if I'm able to do something like this. But here goes:

On my original vision, the game would start with a cutscene. A cutscene devoid of any sound; on which you can see the world (like a medieval-fantasy with traces of steampunk) in all its glory. Then the camera focuses on a small town on the outside, and when with a subtle message, the player would understand that a mother is going to give birth (I remind you, this is all without sound). When finally the baby is born, you can clearly hear the baby's screams. There's a shot on which people is amazed at the fact that the child can cry and the cutscene ends.

The game then would move forward sixteen years and now you'll have the main character (Which I still haven't decided wheter male or female, but I think a female would be nice), which has been taught about the folkclore and the world itself. You see, there's this prophecy that told the world would suffer because of some Demon that would cast vengeance over the humans in frustration of being kicked out of the Demon world/plane. However, killing all the humans would have attracted the attention of other Demons and Angels, so he just merely cripped mankind. He made them all mute.

The main character is not. Hence why the surprise in the first cutscene.

The main character is an expert on hand-to-hand combat, as he's been taught (just like all the other childs in the town) martial arts since he was a kid. He has, however, a great perk: he can talk. You see, there's this piece of folkclore that states that older warriors, from when the Demon wasn't around, built his training around the art of hand-to-hand and voice. The voice is important, as you can materialize more damage or "show your true self". The Main Character is the only one who can do this.

For some motive I don't want to spoil if I someday manage to make this, you're forced to leave town. Now you will have to travel to six different towns, meeting a special character in each town that can use his voice, but has a disadvantage in other area: One is blind, another is deaf, then there's this guy who can't move... you get me. But they all prove to be skilled and will help the main character, in something I won't tell.

Now the gameplay is something I haven't thought much about. I certainly don't know how things can turn out, but I was planning to make a divided gameplay: one which is traveling between cities and you basically walk in 2D like in a Mario game, and the cities themselves, on which you are in a third person perspective and you can interact with the townfolks. However, when you enter in "combat mode", you have this Shenmue-flavored brawler. (But with smoother transitions than in Shenmue xD). I certainly don't know if the fusion between these two gameplay modes can work, but I'd surely want to try one day.
