Why did MS change everything on the ONE?

Just admit it MS dropped the ball big time, they were completley out of touch.

Quite agree, but thats what this thread is about i guess how much theyve had to change, and although some will still make jibes about a 180 and rightly so in my opinion as they did screw up and they should not be let off so easily less they do things like this again in the future. It is all stuff that they needed to do and im glad theyve done it.

Ive gone from never buying and it would of been only the 4th console since the NES i would of passed on, to definatley buying it when its quite a bit cheaper. All these policy changes have now left us with 2 consoles that arent really that differnt so theres no need to get the other one till its cheaper and has a decent library of exclusives. So im still going for the PS4 first for the better versions of multi plats *Presuming based on power*.

For those interested in the consoles ive passed on Master System, Saturn and Wii U and theres still plenty of time for Nintendo to win me back on the Wii U as well :)

I'm sure this not what MS wants to hear, coming from consumers, after they have made so many changes to the X1.

Possibly not but they were never going to win everyone back with more expensive, less powerfull hardware, but they will of won back those that really enjoy the MS franchises more than any others, i know plenty of people that have gone from PS4 only at launch to now getting both, because they cant live without forza. There happy now, and im sure MS are happy they didnt lose them for good, Win Win.

Because the small minority of loyalists were the only people even remotely interested in the console. They simply couldnt let Sony walk away with it like they were doing.

People dont want to be screwed over. They were trying to screw people over. Its that simple.

MS change everything because they listened to the feedback, everyone was negativ about the xbox one and the pre-orders was not good of course they react.

I say its for the best. I couldnt care less about xbone or whatever MS releated, but good competition will make Sony try harder

Also, MS don't have the luxury of being a 'in' product with the Xbox to do the things they wanted, it's not an iPad in the tablet PCs world (certainly more competition there, iPad isn't even rated as the best but gets the sales because it is the in product in that market).

Never thought of that, but it makes quite a deal of sense. Microsoft tried to pull an Apple on the video game market: "here it is what we have and you guys going to like it".

But it took decades for Apple to be a mass appeal fashion/tech item, MS is still the "new kid on the block" on the video game industry, Sony and specially Nintendo have been around as console makers for much more time.

Not only that, but gamer don´t buy anything because it is "hot" or it is "on fashion". We buy it to have fun, and that transcends all the  "shallow girl´s Facebook photo-oportunities" that benefit Apple. We are a simple and honest bunch of people, and we demand simply and honestly fun video games, nothing else.

It was just a matter of aiming at gamers as they were shallow Apple consumers. Makes sense to me...

Because Xbone was getting owned in preorders compared to PS4, besides the bad press.

Now it has fixed SOME of its problems, which is better than nothing.

However, it still pushes Kinect down gamers' throats and thanks to that we have a machine that is more expensive and less powerful than a PS4. It also has an ugly design, hopefully the design can change down the line to a slim, cheaper version (hopefully without Kinect).

They needed to be competitive. The original conception was by no means a competitive product. In its current form it stands a chance against the PS4.
