$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Since the gif ran on bandwidth limit - here's a video with a surprise of Guile's theme

Guile's theme really does go well with anything lol Would be kool if somebody put it with Kaz to reflect moments like these.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Their refocus on high end TV products was the right move..and I think I said so a while back here too. Sell less but for a profit is better than selling a lot for a loss. Market share is not the concern when you bleed money for years and in such high quantities.

Kaz is doing great work with the restructure and refocus of the company

WW.

You know Sony projection for the year is 500 million profit... so 35 million for the first quarter is good.

"Final note, the mobile division seems to be picking up speed, record number of shipments (9.6m, up 30%) and a 15% increase in ASP on a CC basis. Operating profit of $60m for the division, but that is masking the failures of the Vaio division, Xperia probably made in excess of $150m operating profit this quarter, I'll have to crunch the numbers later. Mobile phone revenues are up 65% which, again is very, very impressive. It puts SMC at number 4 globally after Samsung, Apple and LG, but number 2 in terms of ASP behind Apple (who are way out in front at $576 vs $330 for SMC)."

Im guessing is that first quarter is always low?

Seeing Sony and Nintendo making profit again makes me happy. Looked bleak for both companies last year, now they're both on the way back up. Kaz seems to do a great job as CEO ;o

Wow, the TV division isn't bleeding like it was? Kaz really is turning things around. Hope he can keep it up, and we can start seeing profits in the 100's of millions. And I'll be glad when the PS4 finally launches, so it can start bringing in its own money, and not being a drag with its R&D costs. But to be fair, it's NOTHING like what the PS3 was doing.

@ CGI

Yea, this holiday will be interesting. If preorders are anything to go by, the PS4 is going to enjoy a very nice holiday season.

I believe the PS4 has the holiday in the bag, and by quite a margin too. The pre-order numbers are heavily in its favor.

I wish I could be this confident about it lol.  Preorders often seem to not pan out the way they were looking, or it seems like that.  I also don't want this to be "just internet hype", I hope PS4 can make it tough for Xbox One in NA.  It would be awesome if they could potentially take it back, but I feel like Gamerscore alone might make a lot of people stay with Xbox lol.

This is including PS4 R&D costs according to Ethomaz, so to still pull a profit seems good enough for Q1.
